Pan-American Esports Confederation is the governing body of esports, for the american countries, non-profit organization, gathering together esports national governing bodies and regional associations, regulating and creating esports standards. We are pleased and proud to announce the foundation of PAMESCO (Pan American Electronic Sports Confederation), as the result of the joint effort of leading
eSports organization of the continent, brought together by the goal of regulating and institutionalizing the practice of this discipline in America. PAMESCO has been established by Brazil, Argentina and Costa Rica, and their respective representative organizations, as founding members, and will work to give eSports in the region much needed structure and legitimacy. Through PAMESCO there will be programs set in motion to ease the insertion of eSports into the culture and education of the member countries as a real sport, inclusive, valuable and positive, that will promote the values of communication, teamwork, effort, perseverance, peace, equality, dedication, discipline and fair play among many others. The Confederation will regulate the practice in order to erradicate the abuse and unfairness that have plagued eSports, by creating an adequate legal framework and a governing body to oversee it and update it as needed. PAMESCO will level the playing field in América so players, clubs, leagues, organizations and sponsors can profit while operating fairly and transparently, building together a healthy and sustainable ecosystem for the electronic sports to grow in the region. The Confederation will also operate as a platform and a framework where there will be discussed and issued the guidelines to be followed for the correct development of eSports as a whole, and each of its individual disciplines, regarding aspects like arbitration, players representation, contracts and regulations and technical requirements of tournaments organization, among others. The foundation of the Pan American Confederation is a huge step in the right direction to turn eSports into a reality in the continent, it is the result of months of work to build an organization able to answer to the urgent needs of institutionalization that have arisen due to the years of unregulated practice of the discipline. There is still a long way ahead of us in the world of eSports, but it is reassuring to know that no nation in América will be forced to walk it alone anymore, and that there is a will to work together to shape eSports in the continent. Talks are already underway with some organizations from various countries interested in representing their nations in this international platform and legitimize the eSports practice locally, and we hope many others will joins us in the months and years to come.
