The Mummy Personal Trainer

The Mummy Personal Trainer Hi! My name is Rachel, I help mums rediscover and redefine their strength and fitness.

Hello there, I'm Rachel Hughes—your teacher, scientist, and personal trainer specializing in pregnancy and post-partum recovery. My passion for life-long learning led me to become a pregnancy and post-partum corrective exercise specialist after the birth of my son. I have personally navigated the challenges of diastasis, pelvic floor dysfunction, exacerbated scoliosis and debilitating postpartum p

ain. As a certified personal trainer, I realized there was a gap in my knowledge that hindered my own healing journey. Through my study and newfound expertise, I successfully healed my diastasis, bid farewell to back pain, and reclaimed my strength in the gym, surpassing even my younger self. Now, my mission is to leverage my knowledge, problem-solving skills, and analytical mindset to guide you in making your post-partum body its fittest and strongest. Employing a diagnostic approach, I identify muscle weaknesses and imbalances, tailoring a program that uniquely addresses your needs. Together, we'll correct movement patterns and enhance mobility, so that your everyday mothering activities contribute to your recovery rather than leaving you with a sore back.

There’s so much strength within you that you might not even realize yet.

Each workout, each challenge life throws at us, is a chance to reveal just how capable you are.

Each new day, each new week is a chance to celebrate wins or give yourself some grace and re-focus on your goals!

Keep going, mama— we have made a plan, we just have to trust the process.

You’re on the path to achieving your goals!

Do you enjoy the movement you are currently doing? Like REALLY enjoy?

Or is it a punishment for what you ate and the weight you are holding?

Or is it coming from a place of lack, where your body is never good enough, never lifting enough, never strong enough?

Or are you in so much pain and restriction that you can't imagine movement ever being enjoyable?

I want to encourage you today to think about the motives behind your health and fitness goals? Is it stemming from lack or gratefulness?

A LACK MINDSET is focused on what you are NOT able to do, or what you DO NOT look like - wishing to be something different, discontent with what your body currently looks like or can do.

A GRATEFUL MINDSET will keep you focused on the pure blessing it is to be alive and able to move in the way that you can. Having this mindset will shift your workout from an 'I HAVE TO' to an 'I GET TO'.

Not everyone has the ability or opportunity to move and exercise, whether it be at home, or in community.

If you do get to exercise today, I hope that you enjoy it, revelling in the blessing that it is to be alive and able to move.

If you are in the group of people who cannot enjoy exercise because of lingering pain, back pain, pelvic floor issues, niggling injuries or movement limitations, do reach out.

I'm so passionate about corrective exercise and helping people overcome the pain they are experiencing so that they can move into the 'I GET TO' mindset.

DM me 'FOUNDATIONS' if you want to know where to start with exercise.

Have a lovely afternoon everyone,
Much Blessings xx

Each moment of our day, each workout (or lack of), each meal, each glass of water, each sleep is a chance to nurture your body.

No single event is make or break.

But they all add up to either reaching your goals or not.

What do you choose today?

Next Monday we are starting a 4-week holistic pelvic floor and core rehab program. 4 weeks, Monday group workouts, 3 home workouts per week, 3 relaxation and stretching sessions per week, goal setting, healthy habits, before and after metrics + so much more.

This is perfect for new mums returning to exercise to make sure you re-connect all the important little muscles before returning to high-intensity exercise.

I have been working on this for nearly 2 years but the program is completely free for this first round.

If you want more info, just shoot me a message xx

Mama,

You don't need to take care of everything. You don't always have to be a super mom, a super housewife, a super professional, or a super woman.

Because when your body gets tired, few will remember that you tried to be all of this in one person.

So, leave the housework for later. Go for a walk, dance, visit the park, start going to the gym, put your phone down, sleep, meditate, journal, be yourself, take care of yourself, and do it exclusively for you.

Kids grow up, husbands sometimes leave, jobs find replacements, and the house will get dirty again, but you don't get a second chance.🫶🏼
