I’m proud to share my poem “The Angler” — now presented in both English and Chinese.

This poem is not only about fishing.
It is about the long human story behind the cast:
stone, hook, hand, river, sea, patience, courage, family, memory, skill, failure, learning, and the quiet return to the water.

From the first ancient hands beside the shallows,
to the modern angler standing with rod and reel,
the story continues.

Fishing is not only a sport.
It is attention.
It is patience.
It is humility before nature.
It is the old relationship between human beings and water.

The Angler is my tribute to that lineage —
to every child learning the cast,
to every parent untangling a line,
to every beginner, every master,
and every person who has stood beside the water and listened.

English and Chinese versions are now ready to share.

So… Keep on Casting! 🎣

🎣 **Youth Lure Fishing: A Parent-and-Child Lure Fishing Adventure**

Today was a special step forward for Hoek’s Pearl Fishing Adventures.

We had our first pilot session for the Youth Lure Fishing programme — a different kind of day where children and parents step into nature, connect with each other, and learn something real away from the screen.

The focus is simple:

🎣 Lure fishing skills
👨‍👩‍👧 Parent-and-child connection
🧠 Patience, focus, and confidence
🐟 Respect for fish, water, and the outdoors

This is only the beginning, but it already feels like something meaningful.

A big thank you to the parents, young anglers, and everyone helping to build this into a safe, fun, and educational outdoor experience for children in Shanghai.
