The GT Asia Series is an official International Series sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). Events on this circuit are jointly managed and promoted by Supercar Club Hong Kong and Motorsport Asia Ltd.

‘GT’ stands for grand touring – or, in the original Italian – gran turismo. Any GT-calibre vehicle is synonymous with two qualities: performance and luxury. The original GT racing series (GT1) featured top-flight race cars that were developed from sports cars seen on the road (such as Corvettes and Aston Martins). This spawned a series of reinventions and new racing series – from GT2 to GT4. The GT Asia Series features GT3-class performance vehicles. Races are held at major crossroads all across Asia, including Malaysia, China, Japan and Korea.
