As the Chinese ultrarunner girl Yao Miao姚妙 has secured her legend in the trail running community, who cannot be forgotten is Zhang Hongfen张红粉, her strong but low-profile rival.
Growing up from a remote, small, undeveloped and hilly town in Guizhou贵州 province, Miss Zhang had tasted the harsh lifestyle since her childhood by being occupied with helping her family make ends meet after school.
Her love of running and devotion to the improvement of performance in arena and academy has revealed after being enrolled into Zunyi Normal College遵义师范学院 and entering the students' adventure team.
She has become a favorite protegee of the coach, Yang Jiagen杨家根, who has been regarded as one of the best trail runners in China, with as many wins as he could claim in Mainland China, and many strong results in Hong Kong, U.S, and Europe, like sub 13 hours VHK100 with wounds, sub 19 TDS and sub 27 UTMB with serious vomiting. Yang likes her lust for winning and exploring and talent of managing unexpectable in extreme situations and has tried his best to find her sponsorship to race in Beijing, Hong Kong, and other places.
Zhang's gratitude to Yang's generosity is a solid performance like the 5th in Vibram Hong Kong 100, the 1st of TNF50+ Beijing, the 1st of Qilian 100, and so on; with the flag of the team, she carries to every major event.
