A meaningful and inspiring moment for YALI Sport Africa.

We were honored to engage in a constructive exchange with representatives of the .S. Embassy in Yaoundé, bringing together members of our leadership team and embassy officials to discuss youth empowerment, leadership, innovation, sport, and sustainable development.

The meeting provided an opportunity to share YALI Sport Africa's vision of leveraging sport as a catalyst for positive social change, community development, and youth leadership across Cameroon and Africa. It was equally enriching to explore ideas, perspectives, and opportunities that can strengthen the impact of youth-led initiatives and expand pathways for collaboration.

We sincerely appreciate the warm reception, thoughtful engagement, and encouraging dialogue. Such exchanges reinforce the importance of partnerships, knowledge sharing, and collective action in building a brighter future for young people.

As we continue our journey, we remain committed to using sport as a powerful platform for empowerment, inclusion, peacebuilding, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.

Together, we move forward with renewed inspiration and purpose.

Sport is not entertainment, it’s infrastructure.

Sport is often seen as entertainment.

But in reality, it is one of the most underutilized systems for development.

At YALI Sports Africa, we see sport as a platform that can:

• Build peace in divided communities

• Equip youth with employability skills

• Advance gender equality

• Drive climate awareness and action

The question is no longer “Can sport create impact?”

It’s: “Why are we not scaling it fast enough?”

Sport is facing a global revolution, combining economic, societal and digital transformations. It requires a new state of mind, transcending profits, and meeting the expectations of the new generation. Sport has become an economic sector, but also a societal one that cannot be ignored at the global level. New markets with enormous potential are developing, notably in the Gulf States, China and India. Major sporting events are multiplying. Digital technology is transforming practices and enriching our knowledge of consumers and sport practitioners. All of these developments are leading sports players - equipment manufacturers, sports brands, clubs and federations, and sports event organizers - to seek out specialists in the sector.

Faced with this new context, we are convinced that more innovative and sustainable sport could play a decisive role in responding to the challenges facing society today. It is time to act, to redirect sport to its original purpose and to redefine its role in society in order to make it a force for progress and innovation.
