As a woman in perimenopause, I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of advice out there.
Another supplement. Another diet. Another practice. Another “must-do” for your hormones.
As an Ayurveda practitioner, I understand that the perimenopause and menopause transition is deeply influenced by your inherent mind-body constitution — your DOSHA — as well as the lifestyle, stress patterns and rhythms you have lived with for years.
This is why two women can experience perimenopause in completely different ways.
For some, heat, inflammation, irritability or hot flashes may become more pronounced — qualities associated with PITTA.
For others, anxiety, nervousness, dryness, lighter sleep, weight fluctuations or joint discomfort may increase — often reflecting an increase in VATA.
And women with a naturally heavier constitution may experience more water retention, sluggishness, weight gain or a sense of inner heaviness — qualities associated with KAPHA.
Why does this happen?
Because perimenopause is a transition into a more VATA-dominant stage of life, when the elements of air and space naturally become more prominent. This can amplify tendencies that were already present in your system.
The answer isn't to follow every piece of menopause advice you come across.
It is to understand WHAT YOUR BODY MAY ACTUALLY NEED RIGHT NOW.
That’s why I created my free MENOPAUSE BLUEPRINT QUIZ > see link in bio or comment "blueprint".
