Kinesio-Tapes and me
6 years from the first attempts to regular usage and now all the way to teaching Kinesio-Taping at workshops. Are you and team/club interested in a Kinesio-Taping workshop?
My first colorful tapes, I had placed on by my fellow students years ago. Back then I was working on my knee, that hurt when biking. The tapes already helped in the basic applications that we used back then.
Often I then taped my clients after a massage or manual therapy, to prolong the impact of the session. This was and still is rewarding and my clients are happy with this.
When I started working with Spiral dynamic movement patterns, I realized how the tapes can stimulate and hence support specific muscle groups into corrective movement patterns. That was a very cool new application of Kinesio-Tapes for me.
Kinesio-Tapes for sports are a great way to support your body for challenges and / or reduce pain. I recently gave a workshop with Wädi-Volley to look at some volley-specific taping techniques and will have another workshop at an J&S volley-camp. I really enjoy sharing the knowhow on taping yourself, since it's easy and effective.
If you want to support me in sharing the taping knowhow, here's an opportunity: Are you in a team or club, or do you know people, who would approve from understanding how they can tape themselves?
I'd be happy to come by and have a workshop with your group, as I did with the volley-team you see on the picture. Just send me a quick message, and we can set something up.
Ps: You might have noticed that I'm more and more interested in fascia (the connective tissue around our muscles). Last week I was at a seminar on a very specific type of taping fascia. Although I'd known the concept in theory, the practical applications I saw helped me understand way better, how efficient work with Fascia-Tapes can be! I signed up for a full blown course on that this October and will definitely let you know how that turned out.
