R&D is great fun. Our in-house wind tunnel is tailor-built for pedal aerodynamics. PatroCleats TT22 has the lowest drag of all the pedals we have tested. We measure 2,4 Watts for TT22, compared to 3,0 Watt for SpeedPlay Aero and 4,6 Watt for Look Keo Carbon and Shimano SPD-SL. For an Ironman, this means around 10 sec and 30 sec saved, respectively.

The TT22 Pedals from Patrocleats are the world's first dedicated triathlon pedals. They are VERY aerodynamic, VERY low (9mm stack), VERY light (74 gram), have large support areas and enable a more mid-foot position - even on standard cycling shoes. Not much to see here. The TT22 pedals are very compact. We click in by stepping on the pedal. We release by rotating the foot - just like the movement known from the classic Shimano, Look and Speedplay designs. Float is 7 degrees.

Just another day in the office. We are on the road, at Zugersee, testing the new TT22 triathlon pedals.

Today the SpeedPlay Aeros arrived. We are ready for an aerodynamic benchmarking in the virtual wind tunnel. The Patrocleats TT22 is somewhat skinnier and lower - Might it beat the old champion? We'll start the CFD work right after easter.
