Nach einem Zwischenfall in Mexiko wieder brand aktuell. Wartet und kontrolliert Eure Deltas regelmässig. Die Unterverspannung ist ein sehr wichtiger Bestandteil und muss gemäss Manual des Herstellers regelmässig gewechselt werden.

We were saddened to hear of an unfortunate accident due to a structural failure of a side wire on a Gecko. Our thoughts are with the pilot, and we wish them a full and speedy recovery.

As a reminder, before every flight please be vigilant with your pre-flight checks. Side wires are a crucial component of your glider’s structural integrity.
Side wires are inexpensive and easy to replace.
If you are unsure of the procedure contact your local dealer.

At the first sign of frays or kinks, the wire should be replaced immediately. Stainless steel cable work-hardens from bending or kinking, particularly where it enters or exits a nico sleeve. Constant exposure and setup on rough or rocky ground can also accelerate wear, reducing the lifespan of your rigging.

Since 2016, all genuine Moyes side wires have been labelled with a production date, making it easy to identify their age and determine when they should be replaced.

Replacement Guidelines:
• RX Models: Replace lower side wires every 50 hours or 6 months
• Litesport, Gecko, and Malibu: Replace lower side wires every 100 hours or 12
months

If you have not replaced your side wires as recommended in the manual, now is the time to do it. Preventive maintenance can make all the difference in ensuring your safety and peace of mind in the air.
