We were in picturesque Lausanne playing footy on the banks of beautiful Lake Geneva on Saturday.

Sadly we lost to the Geneva Jets. But it was an exceptionally exciting day for us as we had two new players playing their first game of Aussie rules: Manuel and Renato. Also, Jess and Al were playing their first game for the dragons having recently joined our club and big Leo was playing his second round of footy.

Our dragon of the day was our Vice President Nils (Bluey) Schmitt. Playing two seniors games and the reserves match, he felt like a real Aussies rules footballer getting his first black eye and kicking a great goal in the seniors. For his efforts, he was awarded as the best Swiss opposition player by the Geneva Jets who started this fantastic initiative👏🏻

Well done Manuel, Renato, Jess, Al, Leo and Nils

We are absolutely thrilled and super proud of our dragon Niko Seifert who ran his first marathon today. He got the job done in under four hours (3:58:49).

We can’t wait to get him back to footy now!

It's Round 4 of the AFL Switzerland season this coming Saturday with lots to play for both in the Seniors and Reserves ahead of the Grand Final on September 18th. We'll be at the LUC Rugby grounds in Saint-Sulpice, near Lausanne - the first match begins at 1230, featuring the Jets and the Lions.

Training is on tonight at Pruntrutermatte Park in Basel. As usual, the start time is 18:30.

As usual, great atmosphere, great coaches, great supporters and families, great banter, experienced and novice players and a great sense of community. Come down and enjoy for a kick, run, and/or drink afterwards 🍻🏉🐉

We had a great time hosting some of the players from the AFL Switzerland national teams last Friday night in Basel. The Schmitt family put on a great B.B.Q. after the training session.

We‘re looking forward to hosting the training sessions for the Swiss National Teams the Swiss Wolves and Swiss Heidis and the national coaches Tommy Ross and Craig Starcevich, tonight in Muttenz, Basel-Land.

The Dragons have three players we are hoping that make national selection: Nils Schmitt, Seb Schmitt and Keelan Senn. We‘re right behind you boys!
