Das ITF Luzern ist ein Tennis Juniorenturnier im TC Luzern Lido vom 5. bis 11. September 2021.

Das Tennisturnier findet nach einem einjährigen coronabedingten Unterbruch heuer zum fünfzehnten Mal statt.

I ll be crossing my fingers for two Swiss today to make it to their first ever Slam Main Draw:

Valentina Ryser and Leandro Riedi are not only very good tennis players but also very normal human beings with good people around them as well.

2,5 years ago, a young slovak girl won the ITF G4 tournament I co-organized in Lucerne in singles and doubles and to me it was crystalclear she would be a star. Tonight, she claimed the Junior title at the Australian Open. Cheers and best of luck .!

Wie ihr aus der Vergangenheit wisst, schaffen es immer wieder Spielerinnen und Spieler, die an unserem Turnier teilgenommen haben, in die höheren Sphären der Weltrangliste. Gerade dies macht die Unterstützug all unserer Partner für unseren Event ganz besonders wertvoll.

Oft sind dies Schweizer:innen, welche den Heimvorteil nützen können, so in den letzten Jahren Dominic Stricker, , sowie Simona Waltert die gerade erstmals für die Frauen-Nationalmannschaft von Swiss Tennis aufgeboten wurde und ans Finalturnier des Billie Jean King Cup nach Glasgow reisen wird.

Heute haben wir uns aber auch sehr gefreut, als uns auf der Startseite des Webauftritts der International Tennis Federation folgender Artikel entgegenleuchtete.

«Slovakias rising star» ist 15 und wird ebenfalls für ihr Land am Finalturnier des BJK-Cups starten. Gerade einmal vor 13 Monaten hat sie bei uns in Luzern gespielt und gross abgeräumt. Sie hat das Einzel und Doppel souverän gewonnen (auf dem Blld unten rechts, neben Turnierdirektor und ihrer Doppelpartnerin . Vor einem Monat spielte sie bereits am US OPEN der Juniorinnen.

Es brauchte schon in Luzern kein Studium in Atomphysik, um zu sehen, dass Renata Jamrichova enormes Potenzial hat. Dass sie aber so schnell weiter aufsteigen würde, dass war nicht selbstverständlich.

Wir drücken ihr und natürlich auch den anderen "ex-Luzerner:innen" weiterhin die Daumen.

Not the start we had hoped for, but the weather situation will definitely improve. Qualifying Matches are set to resume at 1.45 pm and the forecast looks much better for the afternoon!

Meanwhile, since yesterday, positive news have reached us from former players: and Dominic Stricker, who played the singles final in 2018, have both been nominated for the Davis Cup tie of Swiss Tennis in Ecuador and of Poland has won a Grade-1-doubles event in Canada last night. She played her very first International Tennis Federation event here back in 2019 and will head to the US-Open next week!
