Happy Robert Burns Day 📖

Last night we kicked off the Robert’s Burns festivities at one of our favourite events yet. With little space, a few of our team and the best audience we added a wee bit of highland dance to the evening. As always done the best job piped us throughly the ceremonies. We had the pleasure to meet and .leslie.75641 who form Risky Whisky. Their musical talent and Scottish banter made the evening. Thanks to for inviting us to be part of another wonderful Scottish evening 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

FloraDancers are leaping higher and higher!!! Tonight our Highland Dance Event Team will be performing a lively set at The Bürgenstock Resort at 1‘128m above sea level 😃 We are once again excited to contribute to another fantastic scottish event ran by Mark Chesterfield 🥃

Closing another happy year of FloraDancing!!!

We kicked off 2024 by launching our new toddler highland prep class 😃 I’m delighted to say there was enough interest to run the class for the year and will be offering more classes for 2-4 year olds in 2025.

Our Highland Dance Events Team worked super hard this year showing up and giving there all at various events around Switzerland. We worked with great people and dancing in beautiful locations. We are looking forward to the events we have planned in this new year!!

At 36 weeks pregnant it was bittersweet time to hang up my dance shoes for a wee while to have our baby. I danced my final last highland dance before some hip hop silliness. You haven’t fullly embraced a dancing pregnancy without adding the baby bump to the choreography 🤪

Dearest dancers I miss you all already and look forward to seeing you all in a new semester. FloraDance‘s doors will reopen in spring 2025 😃

I am currently 6 months pregnant and get asked a lot about am I still dancing! And the answer to that is YES 😃

As dancers, dance teachers and performers we work hard to maintain our level of fitness, stamina & technique. To us the thought of not dancing seems impossible 😁 So my word at this present moment is ADAPT!!!!

Our bodies are remarkable. I have so much respect for what they are capable of. these days it is a priority for me to listen to my body. Really listen! Change up my routines…use supports to avoid damage to my hips….add in some new clever stretches….and regular rest.

Whether you have an injury, are dealing with illness or like me growing a wee human dancing is always possible. Listen to your body, adapt your dance routine and continue to feel that joy!
