After 11 days of demanding conditions and world-class aerobatics, the 27th FAI World Glider Aerobatic Championship and 15th FAI World Advanced Glider Aerobatic Championship have come to an end.

The new World Champions have been crowned, and the final individual and team podiums are confirmed:

After an intense week of flying, the championship in Fayence, France 🇫🇷has come to a close, bringing the international glider aerobatic family together for a memorable World Championship. 🛩️

Tomorrow, the new World Champions will be announced, followed by the prize-giving and Closing Ceremony 🏆

🎈 Big news for ballooning! The 6th FAI Women's World Hot Air Balloon Championship 2027 will be held in Jackson, Michigan, USA.

The CIA (FAI's Ballooning Commission) has awarded the hosting rights to the USA after the original host had to withdraw — and the American team stepped up with a first-class proposal on short notice!

We look forward to seeing the world's best women balloon pilots compete in Michigan in 2027! 🇺🇸

After weather delays, flying got back underway in the afternoon, bringing the championship one step closer to its conclusion 🔥

One programme left to decide it all 👀

It was a long, busy day at the FAI World Glider Aerobatic Championship, as organisers pushed to complete all Programme 5 flights ahead of tomorrow’s planned rest day, with changing weather expected to move through the region.

The current leading team in the Unlimited category, Team Poland, faced a setback after a canopy locking issue left their glider unable to continue. If they can get it repaired before the final round begins, they will still be allowed to continue.

Now, just one final sequence remains before the World Championship results are decided 🏆

Meet Ivone Silva, Portugal’s new FAI Female Junior Paragliding World Champion! 🇵🇹🏆

At 25, the Madeira born pilot took the title at the 2nd FAI Junior World Paragliding Championships in Kruševo, North Macedonia. Her winning secret? “Patience. Lots of it.”

From watching paragliders fly past her window in Madeira to standing on top of an FAI 1 podium. What a journey! 🙌🏼
