We managed to win the top speed at the speed week in Geneva, reaching a staggering 31.4 knots over the half mile course.

Thanks to for hosting this cool open event where the fastest small foilers can compete, flying phantoms, 69f’s, moth, etc. We’re coming back next year !

Pushing the boat to its limits, wavy conditions today with a western breeze. Waves built their momentum all the way from Nyon as the wind blew in the direction of the lake.
The wond was working surprisingly well which helped us keep the foil under water.
The crew is happy to be back after sailing on other supports. We’re heading into our next regatta the Bol d’or du lac de Joux, it’ll take place the 20th august stay tuned for more updates.

Upcoming regattas ! Will you be there to sail or watch ?!

The past three weeks for the Syra team were intensive ! We managed to sail our 2 first regattas.

It was at first a huge challenge for the team as we needed to be 3 sailors on the boat to participate to major events such as GRG and the Bol d’or. We had to rethink all our sailing strategies and technics to fly the fastest possible ways with 3 crew members. In order to prepare ourselves before these regattas we trained intensively at morges .voilelibremorges .

We did the GENÈVE-ROLLE-GENÈVE (4.06.22)(Picture 1) in light wind conditions. We managed to sail through the petit lac and cruise our way to Rolle. As winds were extremely light, we stopped at nightfall near Rolle after more than 6 hours of racing.

Followed closely one week after (11.06.22) we sailed the Bol d’or which was unfortunately lightly winded. After a good start we managed to sail our way up to Yvoire where the wind was incredibly shifty. We then sailed through the bay of Evian where the wind was very light. (Picture 2) we ended this regatta by nightfall near Bouveret.

Even though there was light wind in both of these events we learned a lot. We would like to thank the organisation of the GRG and Bol d’or for hosting these events !

Last but not least a huge thank you to who supported us since the beginning of this adventure.

One year ago Syra by Publiaz won the Foiling week award in Milano; unfortunately after that, the pandemic situation didn’t allow us to get much time on the water.
We are confident that this year will be better and we are looking forward to start our new sailing season soon. In 2021, we will not only have a new rudder system and new sails, but we will also optimize the boat further and make it more user friendly. And thanks to our cooperation with the Swiss Foiling Academy - who just won the “sailing award of the year” by Swiss Sailing - young sailors will get the chance to sail on Syra18 and give us valuable feedbacks. We will definitely be open for new ideas coming from the young generation!
Another priority for us is to keep the ongoing information exchange with our design partner VMG Yacht Design in Lausanne. And these discussions will not only concern our current boat, SYRA 18, but also the project to build a bigger boat - approx. 25ft and for 4 persons – with the same concept as our first prototype. More investors welcome!
A bit of patience is still needed before we hit the water and in the meantime we watch with fascination the AC75 taking part in the America’s Cup. Maybe you have noticed that some of the biggest priorities of the Cup Teams for better performance are very similar to Syra! Finding the optimum foil canting angle or having an efficient aerodynamic platform are just two examples of key points for the Cup Teams and for us! We are convinced that the future is looking bright for foiling monohulls and we are looking forward to more sailing time with our Syra foilers projects. Stay tuned…
