Devastating. Heartbreaking. Gut-wrenching 💔
A month on, missing qualification for the 2026 Winter Olympics still hurts in ways that are hard to explain. 4yrs ago, we set ambitious goals and poured everything we had into chasing them. Our hearts, time, energy — all of it. Along the way, we achieved things we’re incredibly proud of. A bronze medal at World Championships. Podiums at 18 of 23 events across the past 2 seasons. A current World Ranking of #1.
But knowing how close we were makes it harder. To miss out by 1 spot is something that is agonising beyond words. Through it all, the support we’ve received has meant everything. Every message, call, word of encouragement — we heard you, and we felt it deeply.
We’re endlessly grateful to Perry & Lisa for giving up time with their families to work with us. To every coach & service provider who has supported us not just currently, but also in the past — thank you for the countless hours you’ve invested.
To those who funded our travel, training, and competition. To our workplaces who gave us flexibility. For the incredible curling equipment and uniforms we’d relied on. To friends who stood by us despite long stretches away. To those who opened their homes, cooked us meals, cheered us on in person or from afar, welcomed us onto your ice — thank you. Every single contribution mattered. You were part of this team and we are so deeply appreciative of the belief you placed in us.
Congratulations to those who qualified for the Games. Earning a spot as one of the top 10 curling nations in the world is massive – good luck and good curling.
To the Aussie Winter Team — it hurts not to be there with you, but we’ll be behind you and cheering you on every step of the way.
And finally, to our families — the ones who were there from day one. The ones who first introduced us to this sport and stood by us through every high and low. Thank you for the sacrifices you’ve made so we could chase our dreams. We wouldn’t be here without you.
For now, we’re taking a breath - before turning our focus to prepare for World Champs in April.
Still proud. Still grateful. Still not done.💚💛🥌
