💚💛❤️Colours of Ethiopia: the return.

Hello there. I haven’t really written any posts in a very long time, but I’ve had quite a hectic TIME.
Good news is: after an evacuation that seemed gloomy and very contradictory, I’m back for good in Ethiopia. I hope, as restrictions are lifted, to be able to show and portrait more of what this beautiful country has to offer.
In the meantime, I have selected a few photos of the part six weeks. Between making my new house “a home” and re-accustoming, here are some moments that lingered with me: the usual sight I get in my commute or just the energy of kids playing.

8 months later, in the same spot and despite the ups and downs, life continues to flourish and it gives you reasons to stay grounded and strong. There was no going to an exotic place but I’m glad we’re keeping healthy and in good shape!
33 weeks have passed in the blink of the eye... looking forward to our encounter 🤰🏻🤱🏻dvln

👋🏼Hello there! It’s been a very long time since I posted anything, but I have been in-depth thinking about travelling since the confinement.
Changing plans, adjusting to even more multitasking at home (with tele-working and a toddler with no daycare) missing your loved ones... swinging from relaxation to anxiety about the unexpected: this is just an non-exhaustive list of many of the feelings I endured during those months. Thus, I felt as if posting something about visiting places was going in contradiction with my mindset and spirit.
Little by little, as we were de-confining, I have managed to link up with friends, go out in restaurants with as many terraces as I can remember... BUT I’m not yet ready to travel in full swing, as I used to do it before. So, despite having a bucket list for 2020, I quickly settled for a “Swiss vacation”, avoiding taking planes and enjoying the beauty of this country I call now my home!
For those of you who are having a , you may find spots in your hometown that bring back the . I'm just fascinated by this little corner of the in Geneva that takes me somewhere in , in a cute little town of the south of France.

⛰🌲🎉Rebounding for adventure in 5,4,3,2,1.
Shades of green that can give you back all colours.
I have been offline in the past few days for health reasons... nothing major, it’s just the season where your immune system is low. And indeed, the best medicine after being low on energy is being outdoors, breathing in a different air, doing something new.
So, I wish you an excellent week ahead, hopefully with a chance to breath a different air.

Paradise! Isn’t it a coincidence that I was reading this passage before getting in the pool? Paradise, you can’t describe it: you feel it. You are a better person by integrating in the landscape. Oh! Those places that take your breath away, relax you and make you connect.

⛰️🌺☕️ Filandia, the daughter of the Andes.
Filandia is a village nestled in the hills of the , which is colourful, picturesque and full of life. Its house features the typical architecture of the coffee area, houses in two floors with colourful balconies that decorate the main alleys of the town. From here, you have access to coffee farms nearby and hiking paths, making it a good place to establish a base and do many activities from there.
What to me respect, I only spent a few hours in here, the time to walk around, purchase a beautiful hat, a few souvenirs and get an impression of the town. I encountered a vibrant place full of visitors and locals strolling in their streets, with the life pace of a Sunday in a small town in Colombia: quite lively.
Ah!! and if you are looking for a fantastic place to have lunch, please visit , a super-creative local cuisine presenting local dishes with a twist. The restaurant does not take bookings so if you are visiting for only a few hours, you could first stop in the restaurant, request a table (if you are a small party, can take about 30’-45’ on a sunday lunch time), start walking around in the streets parallel to the restaurant, come back to enjoy your lunch and have dessert by the small tents on the main square.

The Cocora Valley (2/2) 🌴⛰
Once you start approaching the “bosque de palmas”, you have three possible entrances to see the palm trees without any obstacles (outside from the influx of people). Take your time there, don’t rush it. Run around the trees, document your visit, appreciate the beauty of lush vegetation in altitude, most importantly, observing the highest palms in altitude!
Then, depending on the time of the year, it can get very crowded. As you start approaching the exit of The Valley, you will find many view points offering “themed photos” - posing with a Willys, pretending you are paragliding, which almost made it looked like an amusement park. However, do stop in one that has a “Willys grill” in which you could get tasty “chorizos with arepa”, one specialty of the area. I stopped there to recover from the hike.
Some advice: if you can pick the time of the year in which you can visit, please go in may-early june, october-november and off season periods. I have to admit I went in full high season. Despite all of it, we started our hike at 8:00am and we didn’t feel disrupted by the influx of visitors hitting the park. It was a lot better than expected.
-Bring enough water with you. Once you are reaching the end of the hike, there are mostly vendors with soft drinks and beer
- And I would recommend to not stick around for lunch. There are only a few places that offer food. Better to do it in .

👋🕶️Hello 2020 🇨🇴
We have finally landed back in Geneva, full of memories, landscapes, souvenirs, smells, smiles, flavours and most importantly, loaded our hearts with a lot of energy from our family. Our skin is still warm from the sun touching our skins, from the lovely walks and hikes we did. 3 weeks that went by super quickly and there are still going around in my mind and bringing a lot of smiles to my face.
Ever since I am go back to for vacation, I decide to split my time in two: one part which is dedicated to family, and to day-to-day business. This is a "hard and tough work" 😂 enjoying the festivities, meeting with family, eating and trying comfort food (time is NEVER enough). And the second part, is dedicated to visit the country as a traveler would do, with a critical and adventurous eye, and of course, with extensive insider knowledge which makes it very advantageous.
So in the next days, I will be sharing with you some of my experiences around.
Wishing you a happy Friday ahead

“I keep going back as if Im looking for something I have lost back to the motherland, sisterland, fatherland back to the beacon, the breast the smell and taste of the breeze, and the singing of the rain.” ― Heather Nova, The Sorrowjoy
The best trip of all, the most expected since I returned, is to go back HOME.
Excitement, anxiety, happiness, joy: it has it all!
Keep tuned on my stories for coverage on the land of sabrosura, where the risk is only wanting to stay: .travel
