In their second Regional League CSRL fixture of Season 2026, Zurich Super Lions CC suffered a setback against a determined Aargau Cricket Club Avengers side, who successfully chased down 169 runs in 39.4 overs to secure a 3-wicket victory.

Congratulations to Aargau Avengers on a well-fought win. 👏

While the result didn't go our way, Super L10NS battled hard until the very end, showing the spirit and resilience that define this team.

'Yesterday (Sunday) was tough game lads.

We didn’t get the result we wanted, but the fight till the end in a T40 shows character and resilience.

Also, credit to everyone for surviving that heat ☀️No one fainted 😉, and some even managed a tactical shower in between 😂

🏏 MATCH REPORT: Zurich Lions CC vs Zurich Crickets CC1 🏏

Zurich Lions CC delivered another dominant all-round performance to comfortably defeat Zurich Crickets CC1 in the Mr. Pickwick T20 Cricket League (ELITE T20 competition ) at Fehraltorf, taking a significant step towards securing a place in the knockout stage.

After winning the toss, Zurich Crickets CC1 elected to bat first on Zurich Lions' home ground. However, the decision quickly backfired as the Lions' bowling attack, led by the outstanding Fletcher, ripped through the opposition's batting lineup.

Fletcher set the tone from the very beginning, striking twice in his opening over. His pace, bounce, and relentless accuracy proved too much for the Crickets batters, as he continued to take wickets at regular intervals during his first spell. He finished with an excellent four-wicket haul, leaving the opposition struggling to build any momentum.

The pressure was maintained by Kanishk (1 wicket) and Osama (2 wickets), who provided excellent support . Backed by a sharp and disciplined fielding effort, Zurich Lions reduced Zurich Crickets CC1 to a precarious 28/7. Although the lower order showed some resistance, Mayur displayed his class by claiming two wickets and wrapping up the innings. Zurich Crickets CC1 were eventually bowled out for just 52 runs in 14.5 overs.

Chasing a modest target of 53, Zurich Lions suffered an early setback when Nevan was dismissed early. Ankush then played a few attractive shots before departing with the score on 24/2. Amit Koul steadied the innings with sensible strike rotation, while Kersly contributed a useful 14 runs to keep the chase firmly under control.
Amit remained unbeaten on 26* off 31 balls and guided the team home in just 9.4 overs.

Once again, it was a brilliant bowling display that laid the foundation for the win. The bowlers dominated proceedings from the outset, making the chase a straightforward task for the batters and helping Zurich Lions edge closer to the knockout stage.

Fletcher was deservedly named Player of the Match for his fiery spell of 4 wickets in 4 overs, which completely dismantled the opposition's top order.

With momentum firmly on our side, Zurich Lions now turn their attention to the Cricket Switzerland Premier League (CSPL) to begin their campaign against Olten on 21 June.

Super Lions CC delivered a commanding all-round display to beat Solothurn CC by 130 runs in their CSRL fixture at their home ground Fehraltorf, posting 264 for 8 before bowling out their visitors for 134.

Late-Order Heroics Lift Super Lions to 264🙌🧨 🔥🧨

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Super Lions endured a shaky middle order before a brilliant unbeaten partnership turned the innings around. The hosts slipped to 134 for 8 inside the 27th over as Solothurn's bowlers, led by captain Attaullah Ibrahimkhel (2 for 31) and Tawhidullah Babar (2 for 57), kept chipping away at the top order.

Super Lions innings was anchored by the ever-reliable Maiwand, who continued his remarkable form with another half-century, scoring 62 runs and providing stability at the top of the order. His calculated approach and tactical ex*****on ensured SUPER L10NS maintained control during the middle overs.

The real momentum shift came late in the innings when Yuva and Adil produced a sensational record 130-run partnership for the 9th wicket, turning a strong total into a daunting one. Yuva led the charge with a breathtaking 84 off 45 balls*, smashing 4 fours and 8 sixes, while Adil provided steady unbeaten 39 runs. Together they propelled the total from a modest position to a daunting 264 for 8 in the full 40 overs.

Deon Leads a Ruthless Bowling Effort
Chasing 265, Solothurn never found their rhythm. Wickets fell at regular intervals, with the innings unravelling through a string of small partnerships rather than any sustained fightback. Deon was the standout performer with the ball, returning superb figures of 3 for 16 from his seven overs at an economy of just 2.29, consistently troubling the Solothurn batsmen.

A. Safi offered the only real resistance for the visitors, striking 39 off 38 balls including four sixes, but his dismissal at 113 for 7 effectively ended any hopes of a recovery. Wahidullah chipped in with 16, while support came from Sara Sk (2 for 17) and Amit (2 for 22) as Solothurn were bowled out for 134 in 33.2 overs.

🏏 MATCH REPORT: Zurich Lions CC vs Aargau Avengers CC 🏏

Zurich Lions CC continued their winning run with a comfortable victory over Aargau Avengers CC in Brugg.

After winning the toss and electing to bowl, ZLCC's disciplined attack kept the opposition under constant pressure. The pace bowlers struck early before Mayur Daftari took control of the innings with a superb spell, finishing with outstanding figures of 4/16. Kanishk provided excellent support with 2 wickets, while the remaining bowlers chipped in to restrict Aargau Avengers to 71 all out in 16 overs.

In reply, Ankush and Akash gave ZLCC a flying start. Ankush cleared the ropes twice, while Akash played some elegant strokes as the score quickly moved past 30. ZLCC then suffered a mini-collapse, losing 4 wickets in quick succession while trying to finish the game aggressively with attacking shots. Despite the hiccup, the team comfortably chased down the target in the 10th over with five wickets in hand.

Consecutive victories will give ZLCC great confidence heading into the crucial matches. While the bowling unit continues to impress, the batters will look to take more responsibility and finish games more comfortably in the future.

Mayur Daftari was deservedly named Player of the Match for his bowling figures 4-0-16-4 & Bat - 4* .
