Wir freuen uns, Lionel Bomayako als neuen Headcoach unseres NLB-Teams bekanntzugeben.
Als wichtiger Bestandteil unseres Programms in den vergangenen sieben Jahren hat Lionel die Entwicklung der Wallabies in verschiedenen Rollen entscheidend mitgeprägt – als Head of Youth Sport, Headcoach unseres U22-Teams sowie als Assistant Coach der NLB-Mannschaft.
Bereits vor seiner Trainerkarriere blickte Lionel auf eine beeindruckende Laufbahn als Spieler zurück. Nach seiner Zeit als NCAA Division I Athlet in den USA absolvierte er eine 15-jährige Profikarriere in Frankreich, Schweden und der Schweiz.
Auch auf internationaler Ebene sammelte Lionel wertvolle Erfahrungen. Während 14 Jahren war er Kapitän der Nationalmannschaft der Zentralafrikanischen Republik und vertrat sein Land bei fünf FIBA Africa Championships.
Seine Erfahrung, seine Führungsqualitäten und sein tiefes Verständnis für die Kultur und Werte unseres Vereins machen ihn zur idealen Besetzung, um unser Herrenteam in das nächste Kapitel seiner Entwicklung zu führen.
Wir freuen uns sehr, Lionel in dieser neuen Rolle zu sehen und ihm die Verantwortung für unser NLB-Programm zu übertragen. Wir sind überzeugt, dass seine Vision, seine Energie und sein Ehrgeiz das Team weiter voranbringen und auf den bereits geschaffenen Grundlagen aufbauen werden.

We are proud to announce Lionel Bomayako as the new Head Coach of our NLB team.
A key member of our program for the past seven seasons, Lionel has played an important role in the development of the club as Head of Youth Sport, Head Coach of our U22 team, and Assistant Coach of the NLB squad.
Before beginning his coaching career, Lionel built an impressive résumé as a player. A former NCAA Division I student-athlete in the United States, he went on to enjoy a 15-year professional career in France, Sweden, and Switzerland.
On the international stage, Lionel captained the Central African Republic national team for 14 years, representing his country at five FIBA Africa Championships and gaining invaluable leadership experience along the way.
His experience, leadership, and deep understanding of the club’s culture and values make him the natural choice to lead our first team into its next chapter.
Today, we are excited to see Lionel step into this new role and take the reins of our NLB program. We are confident that his vision, energy, and ambition will continue to drive the team forward as we build on the strong foundations already in place.
We wish Lionel every success in his new position and look forward to the journey ahead.
