My Swiss Rouvy Routes

My Swiss Rouvy Routes Welcome to my page where i'll show you my "Rouvy Routes Creations" and my Swiss playground where rid

Passionate about cycling, I first discovered Rouvy to train. Then I started to make my own roads so that I could ride my favorite routes from my home trainer in the winter. I quickly got into the game of course creation and followed a lot of tutorials to learn how to make quality roads. I work with the following program: Garmin Virb Editor / VirtualTraingEditor / gpx_xml

Regarding the recording of videos, I take them from a Garmin Virb Utra 30 camera but I deactivate the integrated gps of the camera because I find it too imprecise, so I use an application on my phone called "GPX Tracker" which records the signal every second. I sometimes also use the Gimabl from YI the "YI Handheld Gimbal" to further improve the quality of the video. I generally film in 2.7k (largely sufficient for Rouvy) at 30 fps (frames per second). Finally, I don't film from my bike or a motorcycle but from my car, so I adapt my speed as much as possible to match the reality of a cyclist.

Ola Rouvy users,

To end the week smoothly, I am offering you a short course today, 23 km which are ideal for time trial training because they are very flat or just for recovery ride. This time i have slow the video at 0.8 and speed up the gpx at 1.25 for the flat and slow the video at 0.5 and speed up the gpx at 2 for the climb which are more than 5% , like this i hope the "experience" and the reality of the video should be even better.

Many thanks in advance for your feedback 😎

Have a nice ride.

Don't worry about the 8% it's just a very small climb at the end

Many thanks to the 5 people who tested my last route with me today, these 44km were not that easy, we don't forget that Switzerland is never flat 😁.

All feedback are welcome.

For this route i have slow the all video at 50% but i think for the next video i will slow the video at 0.8 for the flat, don't slow the video for the downhill and slow the video at 0.5 for the climb. It's a little of more job but sur the final result will be more better ;)

Hello,

As promised, a new route is online, this time it's a replica of a time trial race which takes place here in Switzerland very close to my home. This is the "TT Prix Wanner Cycles", a nice very fast race where you have to do 2 loops. The best take (in real life) a little over 30 minutes. And you in virtual?

Come and test the course tonight with my triathlon club, everyone is welcome, I'm waiting on you :

Hello Everybody,

A nice new route is now online. It is about a ride in my region with pretty climbs and downhill, nothing very demanding although it is never flat again (welcome to switzerland).

For this route, I have made several tests that I would like you to test. First the height of my camera is now at that of your eyes, tell me if you see a difference in the comfort to ride.

Then I recorded the video trying to go 2x faster than the speed I would have ridden on a bike then in editing I slowed down the video by 50% (the original video was at 60 frames per second and therefore the final video will be at 30 frames per second). This should improve the picture quality especially in climbs where the picture "should" be smoother. (But it's relative because with an FTP at 250 in the climbs where I ride my bike at 20km / h, some will ride at 12km / h and others at 24km / h).

I look forward to hearing your feedback and in the meantime I'm already working on the next road.

Hello everybody,

It's been a while since I posted here, but no worries, it's for a good reason.

First of all, it's still winter here in Switzerland and it's not possible to record beautiful videos, but the sun is coming soon and I will be able to bring out my camera.

The main reason you haven't seen a new video is that I had discussions with Rouvy and the height of my camera on my car was too low. You have to imagine that the eyes of Rouvy users are in my camera, if I film with the camera at 120cm it's as if you had your head on your handlebars and the vision is unrealistic. So I ordered a special tripod that I can fit on my car and so my camera is now 140cm (it's more realistic for users). I'll test this as soon as the weather is perfect here.

And finally, it's not quite official yet, but I have to tell you, I am very proud to be now part of the "Rouvy family", joining this adventure and working with the Rouvy team is for me an honor and this new collaboration will allow me not only to offer you magnificent routes here in Switzerland but above all to make you discover Switzerland and its riches (but I can't say more about it now, be a little patient).

Maximum respect to user ralf_kaiser_speedville on Rouvy who makes my 3 loops of "UCI World Championship" (57.6km for 1406m D+) in 1h34,22 . . . what a chrono 😲

Who want to do better?

hello everybody,

Here's a new road that should like those who like to climb a little but without forcing too much.

i'll take you to the « jura vaudois» from the small town of Praz! the departure is made to warm you with a beautiful descent to the Roman city of Romainmotier, there you will start a sweet climb and then beautiful descent to return to the town of Praz.

You will then go to the climb of the Mollendruz pass, a very soft climb before a last descent into the « Vallée de Joux » and its beautiful lake.

Hello everybody,

Here in Switzerland it is a magnificent sun, I hope that by you too? With the sun and the temperatures increasing, we use Rouvy less, but it also allows me to record magnificent roads with sun, it's good for morale.

As promised, here is finally the loop of the UCI world championships which was initially to take place in Switzerland and which were canceled at the last minute because of covid19 and moved to Italy.

You have to imagine that the pros should have done this loop 7 times, so 134.4km and 3,283m of elevation gain. This was the final circuit, so they still had over 100km of flat before starting those 7 loops.

So I'll let you test this loop and tell me what you think about it, I am also uploading a route that makes 3 loops for the bravest (57.6km and 1407m of elevation gain), it will certainly be ready tonight or tomorrow, but a loop is already not bad.

To start well the weekend, I have just put a new route online, this time a little less km but a little more elevation.

You will leave the city of Yverdon towards the "Jura Vaudois" (a small massif between Switzerland and France). A first short climb to arrive in the village of Orges, then a long downhill to the village of Champagne . This is where it will start to climb. You will kindly realize that the "Bois de Champagne" is not flat, a beautiful assencion through the forest to the village of Vaugondry. Once at the top, make way for a very steep descent to "Vugelles-la-Mothe", another short climb and retrace your steps to Yverdon.

A small "test ride" is organized next Monday with my triathlon club to test this new route, you are welcome to join us (but you can also do the route before) :

To do next week-end :

They are announcing a very sunny day here in Switzerland, I will try to record the final lape of the 2020 UCI world championships which was canceled in Switzerland due to COVID19. The biggest challenge will be finding the right time to avoid as much traffic as possible. Who will be interested in doing this loop?
