📢 Cricket Switzerland Announces ICC Level 1 Umpiring Classroom Course! 🏏

Cricket Switzerland is pleased to launch the ICC - International Cricket Council Level 1 Umpiring Classroom Course, the next step after completing the ICC Level 1 Online Module.

Why This Matters:
Starting from the 2026 season, ICC Level 1 certification will be mandatory for all umpires officiating in Premier League and National League matches. Clubs must ensure at least one ICC Level 1 certified umpire to remain compliant.

Course Details:
📍 Venue: International School Basel (ISB), Reinach
📅 Dates: 8–9 March 2025
⏰ Timings: 09:00–17:00 (both days)

Eligibility Criteria:
✅ Completed ICC Level 1 Online Course by 28 February 2025
✅ Umpired 300+ overs in CS competitions (2024/25 season), including junior & indoor matches
✅ Preference for candidates with ECB ACO Stage 2 or higher qualifications

We’re happy to announce that the first sFOCUS Introduction to Umpiring Course of 2025 will take place in Berne on Sunday, February 23!

📌 This course is an excellent opportunity for clubs to:
✅ Train new umpires
✅ Expand their umpiring pool
✅ Meet the requirement of 4 qualified umpires per team

The Swiss Federation of Cricket Umpires and Scorers successfully organized an ICC Level 1 Umpiring Course on December 7-8 in Basel. This was the second such course delivered in 2024.
The course was delivered by Cricket Switzerland’s Lead Tutor, Mr. Jay Singh, and Mr. Chris Lodge, both ICC-recognized tutors. They were skilfully supported by our talented assistant tutors, Mandar Sathe and Balajee Chandrasekaran.
The course was attended by 12 dedicated aspirants from across the country. The addition of ICC Level 1 qualified umpires to our pool is expected to significantly elevate the standards of the game in Switzerland.
The event was a resounding success, and we eagerly look forward to organizing more such courses nationwide to expand our base of highly qualified umpires—key contributors to the smooth running of cricket in Switzerland.

Congratulations to our new umpire colleagues in Geneva.

Swiss Federation of Cricket Umpires and Scorers S-Focus Introduction to Umpiring Course in Geneva

We successfully conducted the S-Focus Introduction to Umpiring course in Geneva on 10th November. The course was delivered by Cricket Switzerland’s Lead Tutor, Mr. Jay Singh, along with Tutors Mr. Yateendra Singh and Mr. Mandar Sathe.

Special thanks to Tutor Balajee Chandrasekhar, who played a vital role in putting together comprehensive course material.

With around 17 promising umpires from the Geneva region, we believe this batch has significantly benefited from the course. The event was a great success, and we look forward to organizing more such courses across Switzerland to build a larger pool of qualified umpires.

First step for all the umpires in Switzerland is to complete the online Umpire Foundation course provided by ICC - International Cricket Council.
