Yesterday, the GalAthletics Press Conference took place in Bellinzona! 🏟️✨
A wealth of topics were discussed and major updates were announced for 30 August 2026.
🎯 Diamond League Stars: thanks to our new strategic scheduling, we aim to bring at least 60% of Zurich’s champions to the Comunale!
💥 Stadium Street Event: for the very first time, we will be installing a raised pole vault platform for the women’s event right in front of the straight, letting you experience the jumps from up close!
🆕 New Start-Line Stand: 222 exclusive new seats in one of the most spectacular areas of the Comunale.
📺 Wheelchair Racing: confirming our commitment to inclusion with the traditional race for Andicap Ticino and events for athletes with disabilities. What’s more, for the first time in the world, the wheelchair racing event joins the international programme in a live TV broadcast! A historic debut organised with the support of SUVA, in collaboration with Weltklasse, and featuring an exceptional ambassador: Swiss multi-Olympic champion Marcel Hug.
🕒 Sunday at 17:00: a new choice of day and time, perfect for enjoying the show and getting back home well ahead of the return to school.
🚌 Special Transport Promotion: on the day of the event, all GalAthletics ticket holders can travel for free on public transport within the Arcobaleno Tariff Network, across all zones in second class, simply by showing their entry ticket to the ticket inspector.
