We haven't been posting much lately, and we want the let you know why
Our founder is going through a major knee injury and is therefore not able to be out in the mountains himself. “I have been struggling with staying motivated to post content as I haven't been able to create my own content and it is tough to find good content every day from other people in the mountains. I have been focusing on my rehab and started studying to use the downtime while I’m injured in the best way possible. At the moment I’m around 4 months out of surgery and I'm still about 8-12 months away from being back on snow and able to explore the mountains😕 I can not wait to be back out there, and I will come back stronger, better and more motivated than ever⛷”
This means that we won't be posting as much as we have done earlier, but we will try to share all the content we get tagged in with you on our stories or feed, and if there is someone out there who is keen to help us create some content then we would very much appreciate it! Feel free to get in contact with us🙌😃⛷🏂🏔

Following the spine can be a really good route choice. This way you can minimize the risk to get caught in an avalanche, but you gotta watch out for cornice, and of course, falling of the spine could be dangerous when walking on a spine as does in this picture ❄️🏔

Splitboarding on a glacier can be an amazing experience with stunning views and incredible snow on a massive amount of ice that have been there for 1000’s of year's, preserving the history within the ice🏂❄️
This unique landscape can also be very dangerous, with crevasses, deep cracks in the ice that during the winter can be covered in snow. We recommend that you always bring your glacier kit with you when touring in a glacier and book a guide if you don't have the knowledge and experience to your on a glacier🏔

As the world is getting more digital we are getting better and better information about the backcountry and the current snow conditions and it is accessible just at your fingertip📲
Being able to get real-time information on your phone is a huge help to plan your backcountry adventures, which is why we have collected the apps and websites that we find useful in a blog post on our website (https://48freeriders.com/blogs/avalanche-awareness/backcountry-app-websites)
We have just released the first part, where we are focusing on apps and websites there can be used around the globe and then we have been focusing on the ones you can use in Switzerland since that is where we have been based and have the most experience⛷🏂❄️
We are already working on apps and websites specific to other countries and will release them throughout the year🙌
If you use a website or an app that you highly recommend other backcountry enthusiasts to use, then we are looking forward to hearing from you so we can get it on our website 🙏
Go check it out and please let us know what you think, do you want more stuff like this???
