It seems we're finally starting to make real steps toward a turnaround. My second shot is on 4/2/21. If you've been following the newsletter, you'll know that I caught Covid about a year ago. Due to that, my reaction to the first shot on Friday 3/5 was intense. Granted, I worked out with a client on zoom from 6 - 7 am, did a photo shoot in the sub freezing cold at 10 am and then my typical Saturday Kung Fu class from 11:30 am to 1 pm.
I then cuddled up with myself in bed for the rest of the afternoon and then rolled into a necessary Epsom salt bath and then back to bed for the night. By Sunday I was totally fine. Though the article I linked talks about those who have had Covid only needing one shot and having higher antibody levels, I'm still going to get the second dose. It's the responsible thing to do and you all are my responsibility to keep safe, healthy and fit.
Though, most of you have directly brought me back into your lives for massage, I know there are those who are still very risk averse to meet in person. I respect that and am interested in collaborating on solutions to make it work. By mid April, I will be fully vaccinated. in midtown east, Colin and I have proven measures that have kept our clients/patients healthy and the oldest regular is in their 90s! At my home, I implement the same measures as there are quite a few clients that find coming directly to me as their safest/most comfortable option, and under the right circumstances, I'm open to house calls as well. More importantly, I'm happy to continue wearing masks in addition to all of the other guidelines
For fitness clients, meeting at Integrate is awesome if you would like to meet in person in the city, but Zoom is also a fantastic option. With zoom, you can be safe at home and breathe easily without your mask. You'll be surprised with how much you can get done in a small space (if space is an issue for you). If you can lay down a yoga mat, you have enough space. No equipment is needed beyond a mat and a towel, but if you have equipment, I'm more than happy to accommodate sessions with that in mind.
