🌿 Over this next block of classes, we’re focusing on something that’s been shaping my teaching more and more.
Foundations.
Because every yoga pose starts from the ground up — and how we build that foundation completely changes what we feel in the body.
There is no one-size-fits-all body in yoga.
And yet, both in some yoga lineages and in many online yoga spaces, things can become quite prescriptive — as if there is one “correct” way a pose should look or be done.
When you’re following online classes, it can sometimes feel like you need to match the shape or keep up, even if your body is asking for something different.
But in real-life teaching, with real bodies and real lives, that doesn’t really hold up.
So in these classes, we’ll be taking a more exploratory approach, with a reminder that you always have agency in your own practice.
We’ll look at how small changes in grounding, support, and alignment can completely change how a pose feels — and what works in *your* body.
Because every body is different: different joints, proportions, histories, and energy levels from day to day.
And while there are sensible guidelines in yoga, there’s also something equally important: your felt experience.
If something feels steady and appropriate in your body, that matters. If it doesn’t, we adjust and explore — not from fear, but awareness.
And when movement is connected to breath, something shifts:
the nervous system settles, the body feels safer, and ease and mobility naturally become more available.
Nothing forced. Just supported exploration.
If you’ve ever felt like yoga doesn’t quite “fit” your body, or online classes feel a bit prescriptive, this block is for you.
