Arctic Tern was just upstream on Boundary Creek last weekend. We made it all the way to the waterfall after clearing some strainers across the river and making one new portage trail. We don't sell a map for Boundary Creek, but here's all the info you need: it's about 8.4km upstream to the falls with 6 portages. The put-in is above the Boundary Creek bridge about 30km west of Yellowknife. In order going upstream, all portages are on river left (RL) - east side - except the third portage which is on river right (RR). The fifth portage used to be on RR but that spot is now a tangle of burned fallen trees so we cleared a new portage trail on RL. A lot of the area around the falls burned so it's a bushwhack over windfalls to reach and see the falls from where you can no longer paddle up a rapid just below the falls.

Our friend Ryan McCord made an online Google Map of the Bliss Lake Loop that passes through Sparrow Lake, Bliss Lake, and down Bliss Creek to Prelude Lake. There's a lot of detail here for anyone who wants a true challenge in the spring. Be warned there's some bushwhacking but there's also a waterfall you might never have heard of! Huge thanks to Ryan! I haven't travelled this route, and it might be pretty tough when water levels are low, so paddlers beware!

Prelude - Hidden - Extra Hidden - Sparrow - Bliss, and down Bliss Creek to Prelude. We did this route in June on the solstice weekend; water seemed relatively high. Arctic Tern was busy this past weekend clearing the Tibbitt Lake to Reid Lake canoe route along the Cameron River. The area burned a few years back and the trails were completely covered in a knotted tangle of fallen dead trees. We depart next week for another 2 month canoe trip. Starting in Whati, paddling up the Grandin River, down the Johnny Hoe, along the south shore of Great Bear Lake, and south on the Idaa Trail back to Behchoko. More than 1100 km! Along with our 15 month old baby Emile!
