Hi, I'm Candice, sole owner of Fit 'n Fierce Athletics an online personal training & coaching company. I'm a mom of three plus two bonus and have developed my love for fitness over the past 8 years. Just about 5 years ago, I decided to be better able to assist others in their journey, that I would get my certification. From there I obtained my Personal Trainers Certificate through American College

of Sports Medicine, then went on to become a Physique & Figure Training Specialist through NESTA last fall and just recently have gotten my Certification as a Sports Nutrition Specialist through ISSA. I have competed so far in two local bikini shows and since then have switched into the figure category, now building for my second figure show coming up this fall at the East Coast Classics. As a trainer through my recently developed online personal training software I'm able to coach clients world-wide and help them reach their goals through fitness and nutrition. I decided this week I wanted to make pitas for my lunch, but I wanted them to be delicious like pita pit! πŸ₯™
Yesterday's was... blah.. I just microwaved the pita a few seconds to get it warm, and the chicken & bacon slightly. It was very blah.
Today I said, well I already have everything chopped and prepped, so it won't take much time to add a bit more effort in the preparing..

I threw my chicken, bacon & peppers in a frying pan, tossed in some hot sauce with it too, warmed my pita, assembled, then grilled it a minute on the George foreman to substitute how they "toast" theirs. Then even wrapped it in foil to help hold it together, so much yum!

πŸ˜‹ Delish and I am STUFFED so should be good until supper! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Here is my now. Here is my past 4 year struggle. πŸ˜₯

I'm putting this out there to help me be accountable to myself, because I deserve better. My family deserves better, my partner deserves better, my kids deserve better.

Because I am a better ME, a better MOM, a better PARTNER, and a better PERSON when I am not feeling lethargic, depressed, literally and physically - weighed down.

I am better when I am eating healthy foods that fuel my body. 🍎🍊🍌πŸ₯¬πŸ₯•πŸ«‘πŸ—πŸ₯©πŸ₯™

I'm better when I'm ACTIVE. πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸšΆπŸ»β€β™€οΈ
(A body in motion tends to stay in motion while a body at rest tends to stay at rest - and I'll preach this saying forever and you all know it true when you have those days that are "SO productive!" Because you woke up, you got going, and you kept going! You didn't get up and sit on the couch and procrastinate all day.)

And when I'M feeling better and being active, I'm pushing and encouraging my KIDS to be better and get active and we ALL succeed. πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

So this is my now.
And this is my why.

I don't want to lose weight because I want to appear how society thinks I should appear. I want to lose weight and get strong because:
I want to LIVE longer! πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸ¦³
I want to EXPLORE more! (I want to WANT to explore more!) πŸ•πŸžβ›°οΈπŸŒ„
I want ENERGY to PLAY with my kids! πŸ€ΌπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ€Ύ
I don't want to keep saying "not now", "I'm too tired", "maybe later" to them.
I want to feel strong again! πŸ’ͺ🏼
I want to feel proud of the strength and capabilities of body!
I want to feel GOOD again.
Comfortable.
Ambitious.
Happy.
Healthy.
Energetic.
Motivated.
Disciplined.
And so, so much more!

Its been a fu**ed up last 3 months. πŸ˜’πŸ˜· I'd say excuse the language, but I feel its warranted.
All of it.. has severely damaged my mental health. On top of some huge changes happening in my personal life, the world came crashing down and closed off with COVID-19.
I KNOW, that my nutrition and physical fitness effects my mental health in huge ways. And both of those have been pushed to the backburner.

That ends today.

Life is beginning to get back to a new normal and so should my own. I've been slowly getting some more physical activity, workouts, running and regular walks back into my routine and nutrition is slowly getting cleaned up.
I can't even explain how much better I am mentally when I am putting good foods into my body and getting in some regular outside time and physical activity.

Today I begin the new norm. Still working from home for now, but im going to stop acting like it.

πŸ‘‰πŸΌGetting up earlier, getting myself cleaned up, dressed and ready for the day.
πŸ‘‰πŸΌPenciling in some physical activity of 20-30 minutes at least 4 days a week to start.
πŸ‘‰πŸΌPaying attention to what's going into my body and being more mindful of it.
πŸ‘‰πŸΌPlanning for healthier meals for the family
AND
πŸ‘‰πŸΌGetting. In. My. Water.

Its not huge changes, but its a perfect spot to start. So many ask me about how to get started and too many want to do too much all at once. It typically backfires. Small changes, being mindful, one day at a time.
