The Pumphouse

The Pumphouse Located in Wyoming Ontario, we provide high octane workouts to our clients in both group and personal training settings.

Rural Road Fitness is owned and operated by Sam & Kim Timmermans. Kim is an energetic, driven Mother of two, with a passion for fitness and helping people achieve their goals. After the pandemic hit we started accumulating gym equipment to make sure they were able to stay active while gyms were shut down. The small gym we envisioned very quickly turned into a full fledge 600 sqft training facility

! We are located just outside Wyoming, 20 minutes from downtown Sarnia, 15 minutes from Petrolia, and just over 10 minutes away from Camlachie! Our gym currently has enough equipment to allow for up to 3 people to workout at once. Realistically that number is higher, but we will be limiting memberships to ensure member satisfaction while working out. The highlights include;
- A Power rack the is attached jammer arms and multi-grip pull up bar
- A full set of dumbbells from 3-100 lbs (multiples of lower weight pairs)
- Isolateral shoulder press machine
- Isolateral incline chest press machine
- Isolateral lateral back row machine
- Two commercial weight benches (1 flat, 1 incline/decline)
- A dedicated deadlift platform
- A treadmill
- An assault bike
- A double weight stack cable machine with 14 different attachments
- A lat pull down/ seated row combo, with a hamstring curl/leg extension on the opposite side
- A full 100sqft martial arts area fitted with professional MMA mats, a Muay Thai punching bag, and a BOB dummy
- With many more accessories including battle ropes and kettlebells for a truly well rounded work out! Within the next 6 months well will be expanding out to just over 1000 sqft, offering even more variety and the ability to service a few more members. Kim is also offering both online and in person classes. These will include nutrition assistance, accountability coaching, recipe ideas and so much more. Private boot camp classes will be available for a minimum of 5 people. As a 4th Degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, offers a variety of different coaching/bootcamp options. We are very new so things will be changing as we learn what is in demand! We look forward to working with you and don't hesitate to contact us for further information!

Meet Richard, on January 25th 2025, he weighed in at 200.9lbs. Fast forward to August 9th, he weighed in at a whopping 165.7lbs. In 7 months of consistency and hard work he's down over 35 lbs and has a shredded 7% body fat off of his body!! When he started out, he wasn't sure what he'd be able to accomplish. I think it's safe to say the sky is the limit!

Here is a quick high protein, 5 minute lunch idea for the days you'd likely go without! πŸŒ―πŸ‘

-1 la banderita tortilla
- hand full of spinach
-can of tuna (can be subbed out for chicken)
-1 tbsp mayonnaise
-dash of ranch seasoning
-1 tbsp shredded cheddar

Quick, easy to eat on the go and has 275 cals/just under 30 grams of protein.

Today we had our friends Grace, Jacob and Oleksii come out to see the gym! Oleksii is originally from the Ukraine and has a punching bag back home. Oleksii didn't believe until today that girls could box and that girls can be strong too! 😊 I am very happy we had the opportunity to change his mind. The kids got to learn how we strengthen different muscle groups and the benefits of being strong. We also learned some fun self defense moves. I don't usually train youth this young, but we had so much fun today, I am looking at introducing youth classes!

After multiple shoulder and knee surgeries due to underlying conditions, and having been sedentary for 20+ years... Teri Martelle-Rusland stepped outside of her comfort zone and tried her first Pilates class! With a few modifications, she was able to complete the full class and mentioned afterward that she felt really good! I'm so proud of her and excited that we are able to offer a positive atmosphere for every client that attends our classes. I'm so proud of you Mom! πŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸ™ŒπŸΌβ€οΈ
