Happy Global Running Day to our ROC members and to our community at large! πŸŽ‰

We are grateful everyday for the gift of being able to get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and to move our bodies πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ₯°

Whether it's solo or with friends, we hope you are able to log some kms today πŸ”₯πŸ™Œβ˜€οΈ

Lastly, no one's race would have been as successful as it was without the support of our crew. πŸ₯°

These wonderful folks put everyone's comfort and needs ahead of their own to keep the runners going back out warm, dry, and restocked loop after loop. 😌

Not only that, but they literally "held down the fort" more than once, helped other crews secure their tents during huge gusts, trekked back and forth for hot soup for the runners (πŸ˜‰), documented runners' starts and finishes, brought baked goods and homemade juice, paced fellow runners, and went on supply runs as needed throughout the weekend.

Many runners who ran their own races also came back or stayed after to support their fellow ROC team members. πŸ€—

ROC is truly a wonderful crew to be a part of πŸ«‚πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒ

Three other ROC runners also took to the Sulphur Springs trails! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

had an incredible crack at the 100km race where she conquered 80 of the 100 kms before she was unable to continue due to the elements. 80km in that slop is an incredible feat πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Jerred ran his first ever ultra with the completion of the 50km event πŸŽ‰πŸ€©

Last year Dave took on the 50 mile and decided to add a few more kms this year for the 100km πŸ₯³πŸ”₯

Congratulations to Vicki, Jerred, and Dave on their accomplishments this weekend!

8 ROC members formed a team for the 100 mile relay at where each runner took on a one-20km loop.

What started as a pretty doable first few loops quickly devolved into an absolute mess for those running later in the evening and through the night. 🫠

Despite the elements, so much fun and team spirit were had! 🀩

Relay team members included:

One of the most emotional moments from the weekend was when .pedlar crossed that finish line to claim his 100 mile belt buckle. 🏁

This was Tom's redemption run after DNFing the distance last year. Although the weather may have been against him, ROC rallied and had his back from the starting line to the finish line, and throughout the pitstops along the way. πŸŽ‰πŸ€

It was an absolute privilege to witness his grit and perseverance as he took on km after km. πŸ’ͺ

Bravo, Tom! We're all so proud! πŸ₯ΉπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

This past weekend, 14 ROC runners took on the mud fest that was . It was quite the experience for those who ran anywhere between 20km and 100 miles πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

Our next few posts will highlight some of our crew's achievements over the weekend πŸ™Œ

(And to be clear, ANY kms in the conditions this weekend were an achievement)

First up, a big congratulations to who took almost 40 mins off her Sulphur Springs 50km last year, even with the extreme conditions, to finish 5th female in the 50km event πŸ€―πŸ†

Congratulations, Marta! πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ’
