Archie Street Skate Sharpening

Archie Street Skate Sharpening Serving our community since 2022, we sharpen ice hockey and figure skates at a cost of $5 per pair. We look forward to meeting you, our neighbours!

We began offering our services in early 2022 with the goal of supporting and connecting with our community. We are therefore working on a volunteer basis, putting 50% of proceeds towards expenses and donating the other 50% to local volunteer groups serving residents of the Constance and Buckham's Bay community and the greater Ottawa area. If you represent such a group, please feel free to reach out just to get on our radar or to partner up for a fundraising event!

One look out our window and it’s clear that winter is here!

With skateway preparations in the works and the community rink having just opened, it seems like a good time to get your skates sharpened!

During this season of giving, we want to remind you that we offer our services on a volunteer basis. We will be donating half the proceeds to worthy local causes and putting the other half towards expenses, specifically the cost of our machine and its maintenance.

Once we gather enough funds to make our first donation, we will post to let you know where it went!

Now that skating season is winding down, we will be offering our services by appointment only.

Keep in mind that same-day appointments and skate drop-off and pick-up are welcomed.

Hi folks! Since the Skateway Winterfest has been postponed to tomorrow, we are postponing our temporary relocation to 617 Bayview Drive to tomorrow as well. Weather permitting, we will be camped in our friend’s driveway from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to sharpen your skates or just to meet more of our neighbours in the community.

Skate sharpening is still available on Archie today, either by appointment or during the drop-in hours posted at the top of our page.

In case you're wondering why we haven't posted an address, we want to explain. A few neighbours have volunteered to offer the service using our portable machine in order to maximize availability. Therefore, we have positioned the map pin between us and will ensure signage directs you to the appropriate home. We look forward to seeing you soon!
