While cruising through the beautiful Mediterranean and making her way toward Gibraltar, Carolyn is proving that fitness doesn’t take a vacation! We were thrilled to receive this photo of her getting a workout in at the ship’s gym while enjoying the trip of a lifetime.

Carolyn is the perfect example of what a healthy lifestyle looks like—staying active, making movement a priority, and having fun along the way. Her positive attitude, infectious smile, and unwavering motivation inspire everyone around her.

A huge congratulations to Denise Flint on achieving an incredible milestone—1,000 workouts at Blue Sky Fitness! 💙

Denise began her journey with us on January 21, 2017, just two weeks after we opened our doors, and she has been such a special part of our Blue Sky family ever since.

Denise has a heart of gold and is always the first to offer a helping hand. From watering our plants, buying baskets to organize equipment, and even purchasing a fan for the studio, she is constantly thinking of others. When I broke my leg, Denise stepped in to help clean and organize the studio beyond anything I could have imagined.

She truly makes our community better. Whether she’s socializing during class, checking in on everyone, or genuinely taking an interest in people’s lives, Denise brings warmth, kindness, and connection everywhere she goes.

Denise, thank you for your generosity, friendship, and unwavering support over the years. We are so grateful you’ve been part of our journey from the very beginning.

Meet my amazing mom, Michaele , age 84, showing us all how it’s done! 💪❤️

Here she is taking on a reaction-time challenge that lights up different targets, requiring her to move quickly, think fast, and touch each circle as accurately as possible. This type of training isn’t just fun—it helps improve:

✅ Reaction time
✅ Hand-eye coordination
✅ Balance and movement skills
✅ Multitasking ability
✅ Cognitive function and brain health

As we age, challenging both the body and the brain at the same time becomes increasingly important. Activities that combine movement with decision-making help strengthen the connections between the brain and body, supporting memory, focus, and overall cognitive health.

🌟 JUNE SHINING STAR 🌟

This month we’re celebrating the wonderful Leslie Middleton!

When Leslie relocated to St. Vital, she was searching for a fitness community that offered morning classes. After spotting Blue Sky while driving by and stopping in for a visit, she was warmly welcomed by Deb and quickly received a glowing recommendation from longtime member Lynn Casselman. Leslie joined right away—and the rest is history!

💪 Leslie’s favourite class is our 9:15 Senior Fit, where she loves the variety of exercises, themed workouts, and the personalized coaching that helps everyone move safely and confidently. Recently, she’s added Fusion to her routine and says it’s the perfect complement to her workouts.

☀️ Since joining Blue Sky, Leslie has built a routine that starts her day off right. After enjoying a chai latte made by her husband each morning, she heads to the studio where she gains strength, confidence, energy, and motivation. She’s noticed improvements in her leg and core strength, increased upper-body endurance, and feels ready to tackle whatever the day brings.

❤️ What stands out most to Leslie? The welcoming atmosphere and personal connection. She says that getting to know Kathryn and being part of a smaller, community-focused studio has made all the difference.

When Sarah first started her personal training journey, back issues made many movements feel challenging and intimidating. Fast forward to today… she is absolutely CRUSHING her corrective exercise work and proving what consistency, patience, and determination can do! 👏💪

One of her biggest wins?
Maintaining a full bear crawl position with shoulder taps while balancing a yoga block on her head AND a body bar across her back — all while staying stable and controlled the entire time! 🤯🔥

This level of core control, spinal stability, balance, and body awareness doesn’t happen overnight. It’s the result of hard work and dedication during every session.
