Who makes a good Rookie Triathlete of the Year nominee?
Rookie Triathlete of the Year recognizes an athlete in their first year of triathlon competition who has made a strong entrance into the sport. Nominations should highlight race results, podium finishes, consistency, and the level/depth of competition the athlete faced. This award celebrates an athlete who has made an impressive debut and shown that they have the potential to become a strong competitor in the years ahead.
In 2025, the female Rookie Triathlete of the Year went to Naomi Johnson. After joining the Just Tri It Program, Naomi showed incredible commitment and progression, working her way up to competing in the Sprint distance. At the St Malo Triathlon, she delivered an outstanding performance, finishing in 1:23, placing 8th in the female category, just six minutes off the top spot.
