What an incredible day at the The Pas Tri-Community Triathlon!

From the first swim start to the final athlete crossing the finish line, today was full of determination, smiles, hard work, and a whole lot of community spirit. Every athlete, no matter the distance, pace, or experience, showed up and gave it their all, and that’s what makes this event so special.

A huge congratulations to everyone who raced today. You did it!

We also want to say a heartfelt thank you to the volunteers, race officials, medical teams, and organizers who worked behind the scenes (and out on course!) to make today run smoothly. This event simply wouldn’t happen without your time, energy, and commitment to the sport.

And of course, thank you to the families, friends, and spectators who cheered from start to finish, you helped carry athletes all the way to the line.

Rest up, celebrate, and wear those finisher feelings proudly. Until next time!

This time tomorrow, you'll be pinning on race bibs, making last-minute gear decisions, wondering if you packed everything, and trying to remember where you left your goggles.

As we get ready for the The Pas Tri-Community Triathlon this weekend, now is the perfect time to brush up on the rules before heading to the start line.

Race officials are there to help create a safe, fair, and enjoyable experience for everyone on course. From ensuring athletes follow drafting rules to monitoring transition areas and keeping competitors safe, officials play an important role in every race.

A few minutes spent reviewing the rules can save you valuable time penalties on race day and help make the event run smoothly for all participants.

Most importantly, if you see an official this weekend, take a moment to say thank you. They spend countless hours training, volunteering, and supporting our sport so that athletes can have a great race experience.

Good luck to everyone racing this weekend, we can't wait to see you out on the course!

Congratulations on your Huatulco win Tyler!

Here are some quotes describing his race from his post-race interviews:

“It was another hot, fun day in Mexico. I’m pretty stoked with the win. Anytime you can win a race at this level you have to be pretty happy,” said Mislawchuk following his ninth career World Cup podium. “It was my fifth time back and the fifth time was a charm. It feels just as good as the first win here.”

“When Sully caught me, I thought I would try to relax, get some water in, refocus and do one last surge,” said Mislawchuk. “I figured I’d go as hard as I could, I didn’t want to leave it to chance with a sprint finish today because you never know what would happen.”

“It was an epic battle out there – super fun,” he said. “I’m definitely not the youngest guy anymore, but maybe the experience paid off having been at the course a few times before.”

The Oak Bluff, Man. resident won two other times in Huatulco (2021, 2019) and had two silver medal finishes (2023, 2022).

That's a Wrap on the Birds Hill Triathlon Weekend!

What an incredible weekend of racing, determination, and community spirit at Birds Hill Provincial Park.

While circumstances beyond our control meant a last-minute change from triathlon to duathlon, athletes showed up ready to race, adapt, and give it their all. From first-timers to seasoned competitors, everyone embraced the challenge and helped make the weekend a success.

Congratulations to all of our participants, including the Kids of Steel athletes, who crossed the finish line with smiles, grit, and plenty of memorable moments along the way.

A huge thank you goes out to our race directors, organizing committee, volunteers, officials, sponsors, medical staff, and supporters. Events like this simply wouldn't happen without the countless hours contributed by so many dedicated people behind the scenes.

Thank you as well to our athletes and families for your flexibility, understanding, and positive attitude throughout the weekend. Your support of local multisport events is what keeps our community thriving.

We hope you enjoyed the weekend as much as we did. Recover well, celebrate your accomplishments, and we'll see you at the next start line!
