Orioles Bike Cage

Orioles Bike Cage Community bike repair hub located in Orioles Park at 464 Burnell Street. Find us in the small building north of the skating rink and next to wading pool.

The Orioles Bike Cage strives to make cycling and cycling knowledge accessible to all, especially people who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford it, by offering access to tools, help, and parts for people to fix their own bike or to build one out of recycled frames and parts.

We are launching our Youth Ride Free pilot this fall.

Students aged 11 to 21 who are attending a public, independent, or home school this academic year can ride on Winnipeg Transit for free.

Schools will distribute passes in three stages. Grade 11 and 12 students can request passes starting on the first day of school. The second stage will begin in mid-September for Grade 9 and 10 students. The final stage will be the end of September for Grade 7 and 8 students.

Parents and/or students should reach out to their classroom teacher or school office for more information. Passes are valid until August 2027 and usable with our Transit Plus (must be an eligible customer) and On-Request services for non-school trips.

thirty kilometers per hour speed is limit.

Remember to slow down. School zone speed limits of 30 km/h are back on September 1 around many Winnipeg schools. They're in effect weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m until the end of June.

Now is a great time for parents and caregivers speak with children about road safety. Drivers and cyclists should also be extra careful around schools and daycares.
