Get off your comfort zone, they said. Off the couch and on to make another step. I was aching and tired and the couch was so comforting. But I kept going. You do what you can, and you can! Once a week, twice is better. For sure, it’s not easy against the wind of age-work-family-other-obligations, just name it.
But practice allows handling it all better. It’s also fun! Luckily.
One step at a time, it’s a wondrous journey that will take you places your couch never will. First step is free, give it a try.

Such an eventful summer. I travelled to Tokyo and survived 11 classes in hombu dojo, world’s headquarters. Wish I could stay longer and practice more.
Each teacher with their 7th dan point of view but they barely talk so you have to try your best and figure out what they are doing… They do make you practice HARD and the students around are so good!
Some able younger people were doing more than one class a day, every day. Some older people were so flexible and throwing me around effortlessly. Such an inspiration.

We will resume classes very soon on September 2ed (Wednesday). I will make an event and hope to see some familiar faces, maybe some new. If not then, come on Saturday. Going to be so good this year.

Anyone recognizes that painted picture?

Aikido is a non-competitive Japanese martial art that focus on connection and flow instead of using force and resistance. Instead of clashing with what comes our way, we learn to blend with it, redirect its energy, and stay in control. The purpose isn’t to win over anyone else – it’s to stay m...

“No pain, no gain” always sounded a bit too dramatic to me. Sure, there will be some pains. But it’s not a requirement for anything.

I think it’s down to persistence and the direction you’re heading. The point I want to make is that besides strong will, which is hard to develop, what actually makes people keep going is something much simpler: enjoying the practice.
The gain is immediate, whenever you show up and do what you set out to do. It can be because you like the people around you, or just the activity itself. The understanding that occasionally hits you, or maybe it’s just your quality time away from other stuff. You’ll persist, carrying on even when there are bumps, delays, off days, weeks when everything feels slow.

Progress comes from coming back again and again, not from suffering through it.
Fun is underrated. It keeps you moving.

What do you think?
