The Manitoba Minor Football Association (MMFA) is a volunteer organization that is the governing body for youth tackle football, ages 7 to 14, in the city of Winnipeg and in the surrounding rural areas. Children play football because it is fun, challenging and exciting. Most kids love being part of a team and playing with their friends. Football teaches cooperation and team work, helps develop pos

itive social skills and teaches respect for others. It helps build self-confidence, a positive self-image and self-worth. It enables a child to improve upon and develop a broad range of motor skills like throwing, catching, running, kicking, balance, agility and coordination. Because a large variety of skills and physical abilities are required on a football team, there is a position for every child to play. The MMFA features over 60 teams that are broken up into 4 age groups:
- Crunchers 7 & 8 year olds
- Atom 9 & 10 year olds
- P*e Wee 11 & 12 year olds
- Bantam 13 &14 year olds
***Please Note: Age is determined as of December 31 of the calendar year of the season***

The rivalry starts young. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿˆ

Today, Manitoba and Saskatchewan go head-to-head in one of the best traditions in Canadian football the Labour Day Classic. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค

We know where Manitoba standsโ€ฆ but we want to hear from BOTH sides of the prairie.

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’› BOMBERS or ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค RIDERS?

Drop your winner AND final score prediction in the comments. ๐Ÿ‘‡

And to our minor football friends next door in Saskatchewanโ€ฆ consider this a friendly challenge. ๐Ÿ˜

The players on our fields today could be the ones carrying this rivalry onto the big stage tomorrow.

Two provinces. One incredible football tradition.

Now tell us, Saskatchewanโ€ฆ who ya got? ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿˆ

A big thank you to Kelly Butler for joining tonightโ€™s Manitoba Minor Football Association meeting as our guest speaker.

We truly appreciated Kelly taking the time to share his passion for wellness and mental health, and to educate our football community about the important work he is doing and what he is working toward.

Kelly also shared information about the upcoming DUB Wellness Game, taking place Thursday, September 24 at Charleswood Broncos Football Field, 535 Oakdale Drive. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The game will support first responder mental health in memory of Winnipeg firefighter Preston Heinbigner and help bring greater awareness to the Preston Heinbigner Memorial Fund.

Thank you, Kelly, for the conversation, the education, and most importantly, for using football as a platform to help make a difference. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿˆ

Weโ€™re grateful you spent part of your evening with the MMFA.

Reaching down to lift up the next generation. ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ’™

Last night at Minor Football Night, our MMFA players got more than a high-five from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, they got a moment with athletes who are playing the game they dream about.

For the Bombers, it might have been a high-five.

For a young player looking up at them, it could be a moment they remember for years.

Because somewhere among these jerseys could be a future Winnipeg Blue Bomber. A future CFL player. A future coach. A future leader in our game.

The players on the field today were once kids dreaming from the sidelines too.

Sometimes the future of football is only a high-five away. โœ‹๐Ÿˆ

๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ’™ MINOR FOOTBALL NIGHT! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿˆ
(Share your pictures and video with us)

What a night for Manitoba minor football!

Last night, MMFA players and coaches had the incredible opportunity to take part in Minor Football Night at Princess Auto Stadium, proudly wearing their team colours, taking in warmups from the sidelines and being part of the excitement of game night! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Thereโ€™s something pretty special about seeing the next generation of Manitoba football standing on the same field where so many of their football heroes play.

A huge thank you to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Winnipeg Football Club for continuing to recognize, celebrate and invest in minor football across our province. Experiences like this create memories for our young athletes that go far beyond the scoreboard. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

And to all of our MMFA players and coaches who filled the stadium in their jerseys and team gear, thank you for representing your clubs and our football community so proudly!

The future of Manitoba football was definitely in the building last night. ๐Ÿˆ
