🎾🇨🇦National Junior Open Series Comes to Manitoba! 🇨🇦🎾

This past weekend, Tennis Manitoba proudly hosted the National Junior Open Series at the National Bank West St. Paul Hub and Deer Lodge Hub, welcoming some of Canada’s top junior players.

Despite challenging rain delays and unpredictable weather throughout much of the tournament, players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and families showed incredible perseverance and resilience. Their efforts were rewarded on the final day with beautiful sunshine and perfect tennis conditions to conclude an outstanding weekend of competition.

We were thrilled to welcome athletes from across Canada, including Vancouver, Surrey, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, Toronto, and more. The event showcased outstanding talent, sportsmanship, and competitive spirit at both facilities.

🎾 Growing Tennis in Rural Manitoba! 🎾

Tennis Manitoba is grateful for the support of Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries through the Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Rural Development Grant Program.

Thanks to this funding, Tennis Manitoba was able to deliver a community tennis development program in Oakbank, Manitoba, providing local athletes with an opportunity to learn new skills, stay active, and connect with the sport in their community.

Through initiatives like this, Tennis Manitoba is helping to grow the game by supporting athlete, coach, and volunteer development opportunities in rural communities across the province. Programs such as the Oakbank tennis lessons help create sustainable pathways for participation and foster a lifelong love of tennis.

A sincere thank you to Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries and Sport Manitoba for investing in the growth of sport and recreation in rural Manitoba. Your support is making a meaningful impact on participants of all ages and abilities.

Together, we are creating more opportunities for Manitobans to get active, develop their skills, and experience the lifelong benefits of tennis.

🎾 Congratulations to Manitoba’s Newest Certified Tennis Instructors! 🎾

Tennis Manitoba is proud to congratulate this outstanding group of coaches on successfully completing the TPA Instructor Level Course at the Tennis Manitoba Deer Lodge Hub!

Over four days of training, participants developed the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to introduce new players to the game through Tennis Canada’s progressive tennis pathway. The Instructor Certification is the first step in the Tennis Canada coaching pathway and plays an important role in growing the sport across our communities.

A special thank you to course facilitator Scott Hurtubise, Tennis Canada Club Pro 3 & Coach 3, for sharing his expertise and guiding candidates through the training and evaluation process.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Coaching Manitoba for their continued support of coach education and development in our province. Their commitment to developing quality coaches helps strengthen tennis programming and create positive sport experiences for athletes across Manitoba.

We look forward to seeing these newly certified instructors inspire the next generation of tennis players throughout Manitoba, both on and off the court.

👏 Congratulations to all participants on this achievement, and thank you for your commitment to the growth of tennis in our province!
