Bullpen practice is always great when we have 4 catchers plus a bullpen catcher to get some new looks on pitchers they haven’t fully caught before. Sometimes having both pens and batting practice going on can be chaotic for coaches to keep track of so I highly recommend filming swings, pitching, and catching to look back on later so that certain flaws in mechanics can be touched up on during the next practice. As catchers we have to help coaches out during these practice sessions which means communication is key to keep the pitchers on schedule so there’s no sore arms, miss communication and cross ups, or wasted time that could’ve been used for more reps at hitting. Catchers are the heart and need to be loud and help lead at all times. 🔥💪

Learning what stance is most comfortable for you or your kid is important because all players are different but the mechanics will always be the SAME! This kickstand hybrid w/ left knee cheat is a great way to find mobility in younger athletes that need that push to be more aggressive on blocks, picks and frames. The flexibility on this stance will help a catcher with that mental struggle of having to decide whether to stay low for a strike call or keep the ball in front.
