We teach swimmers of all ages and abilities, from Parent & Tot to advanced swimmers and adult learners.

🌊 MEET OUR INSTRUCTORS – ELLISYN 🌊

Ellisyn is one of our swim instructors serving Windsor-Essex and surrounding areas this season!

Ellisyn has been teaching swim lessons for over a year and has spent the past four years working with individuals within the disability community. She is passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where swimmers of all abilities can build confidence and develop important water safety skills.

Ellisyn loves working with children and believes every swimmer deserves the opportunity to feel successful in the water. Her patient and encouraging approach helps swimmers learn at their own pace while having fun along the way.

She is looking forward to meeting new families and helping swimmers build confidence in and around the water this summer!

WATER SAFETY WEDNESDAY #2

At Lessons to You, our instructors spend time teaching swimmers not only how to swim, but also how to stay safe around water. Water safety conversations don't end when lessons are over—they can continue at home, at the cottage, on the boat, or at the beach.

WEAR A LIFEJACKET 🦺

Lifejackets save lives.

Whether you're boating, fishing, paddling, or spending time near open water, a properly fitted lifejacket is one of the best safety tools available.

Many people overestimate their swimming ability, especially in cold water, strong currents, or unexpected situations.

Looking for employment opportunities for your 15+ year old?

Becoming a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor is one of the most rewarding jobs available to young people.

Not only does it provide valuable work experience, but it also helps teens develop confidence, leadership skills, responsibility, decision-making abilities, and strong communication skills that will benefit them for years to come.

The pathway to becoming a lifeguard typically includes:

🏅 Bronze Cross
⛑️ Standard First Aid with CPR-C
🏊 National Lifeguard

To earn National Lifeguard certification, candidates must be at least 15 years old and hold both Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid certifications.

Whether your teen is looking for their first job, enjoys being around water, or wants to build skills that stand out on future college, university, and employment applications, lifeguarding is an excellent option.

One of the questions we get asked most often is: "What equipment should I have at home for swim lessons?"

The good news is that you don't need much. A few simple items can make lessons more engaging, help swimmers build confidence, and provide opportunities to practice between lessons.

In this carousel, we're sharing six of our favourite pieces of pool equipment that we regularly use during lessons and recommend for play, practice, and fitness.

Some are must-haves, while others are simply nice additions if you have the space and budget.

Water Safety Wednesday #1

At Lessons to You, water safety is incorporated into every lesson we teach. Along with swim skills, our instructors regularly discuss important water safety concepts with swimmers. Parents play an important role too, and continuing these conversations outside of the pool helps reinforce these life-saving habits.

🏊‍♀️ SWIM WITH A BUDDY

One of the simplest water safety rules is also one of the most important.

Children should never swim alone, even if they are strong swimmers. Having a buddy nearby means there is someone who can get help if needed and adds an extra layer of safety around the water.

Whether you're at the pool, the beach, or the cottage, make swimming with a buddy a family rule.

Giuliana is a passionate and patient instructor who loves helping swimmers build confidence and feel successful in the water. Through coaching and community volunteer programs, she has developed strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills while working closely with children and families.

Giuliana is excited to meet new families this season and create fun, positive, and supportive learning experiences for swimmers of all ages!
