Avon Valley Golf and Country Club was established in 1971 following the closing of the former Windsor nine hole course near Fort Edward. Play started in 1973 with a nine-hole layout although 12 holes had by then been completed. It has since grown to a challenging and very well groomed 18 hole course. Hilly terrain, fast and subtle greens and the occasional variable breezes always call for strategy

to score well. Constant improvement over the years (a new hole in '95, the new Clubhouse in '07, a new practice area in '09 and much more) have enhanced the challenge and enjoyment of an already beautiful course. Avon Valley is noted for peak conditions, friendly staff and friendly members who make visitors feel welcome, as well as full amenities such as a modern, licensed dining room/ deck with wi-fi throughout. We usually operate from about mid- April until late October or early November, depending on weather conditions.

Ladies Field Day Postponed

Due to the forecasted rain and wind for Ladies Field Day on Tuesday, June 23, we have decided to postpone the event to Tuesday, July 7, with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start.

Andrew Kennedy erased a four-shot deficit on the front nine by firing a 33 on the back nine to finish tied with Jordan Tanner at 73. Both Andrew and Jordan birdied the first playoff hole, but Andrew chipped in on the second playoff hole to capture his second consecutive Spring Tune-Up title. Congratulations also to Natalie Rippey on winning the Ladies’ Low Gross division!

Opening day is Wednesday, April 22!

After a long winter, the course is ready, the fairways are coming to life, and the greens are rolling. Opening Day marks the beginning of another great season filled with memorable rounds, friendly competition, and time well spent with fellow golfers.

A big thank you goes out to Dean and the entire maintenance team for their hard work preparing the course, as well as to our staff and volunteers who helped get everything ready for the season.

The wait is almost over…

Avon Valley Golf & Country Club officially opens for the 2026 golf season on Wednesday, April 22!

We’re incredibly excited to welcome back all of our members and guests for what promises to be an outstanding season of golf. The course is coming together beautifully, and we can’t wait for you to get back out, enjoy the fresh air, and kick off another great year at Avon Valley.
