The Williams Lake Cross Country Ski Club offers 28km of beautifully track set cross country ski trails at Bull Mountain, 16km North of Williams Lake, off Highway 97. Dog trails, 3.5km of night lighting, an adventure park and Jack Rabbit program ,as well as adult lessons, are available.

🌲 A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR VOLUNTEERS! 💪

What a productive AGM at Bull Mountain! Along with getting together for our Annual General Meeting, our volunteers rolled up their sleeves and got a tremendous amount of work done to get ready for the season ahead.

🔥 Cut and split approximately 5 cords of firewood for future use
🧹 Gave the lodge a thorough cleaning
🪵 Swept the chimney
🍂 Cleaned out the gutters
🌲 Cleared fallen trees from the trails
🚜 Kept up the mowing over the past couple of weeks to keep grass and brush off the trails
✨ Gave the outhouses a thorough cleaning, too!

It takes a lot of behind-the-scenes work to keep Bull Mountain in great shape, and we couldn’t do it without our amazing volunteers. A big thank you to everyone who showed up, pitched in, and stepped up to help at the AGM.

This is what makes our ski club such a great community! ❤️🎿

🎯🚴 Biathlon Day at Bull Mountain — October 17!

Ride, run or hike the course, then try your hand at target shooting. Sounds easy enough, right? 😄

Everyone got a chance to give it a go, and quickly discovered that biathlon is a lot harder than sitting on the couch! Getting your breathing under control and hitting those targets takes practice.

A big thank-you to Biathlon BC for supplying the ri**es and everyone who came out, took on the challenge and made it such a fun day.

Who knew biking and shooting could be such a workout? We hope to see you back for another round! We have the ri**es for the winter sharing with two other clubs. Watch for more events this fall and winter.

EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT PURCHASE

The Williams Lake Cross Country Ski Club has strengthened emergency preparedness at Bull Mountain through support from the Williams Lake Community Forest.

WLCF funding helped the club purchase a patient vacuum mattress and snowmobile tow bar, adding to a rescue toboggan donated by the Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club. The equipment is now assembled and stored beside the club's snowmobiles as a ready-to-deploy emergency response kit.

The new equipment provides an additional layer of safety for recreational trail users, club programs, volunteers and organized events. It was placed on standby for the BC Teck Race at Bull Mountain, which involved approximately 100 participants and volunteers.

The new equipment will form part of the club's future emergency response capabilities. Any future training for club volunteers will incorporate the vacuum mattress, rescue toboggan and snowmobile tow bar so that volunteers are familiar with the equipment and its use.

The project has given the club a substantially enhanced rescue capability that will support safe recreation and events at Bull Mountain for years to come.

It may not feel like it quite yet, but winter tire season is quickly approaching! We are thrilled to share that Kal Tire has renewed their sponsorship with Cross Country BC, and that the annual Kal Tire Winter Tire Coupon Challenge is back for another season.

Kal Tire is the proud sponsor of the children’s Skill Development Program (SDP) here in BC, generously supporting grassroots development of our sport. They have funded ski playgrounds, adventure trails, coach development, youth coaches, roller skis, program equipment, and more.

The coupon is for a $100 discount on a set of Nokian tires, including their flagship Hakkapeliitta tire. To redeem, simply show the digital coupon at your local Kal Tire store. The coupon is valid until Sep 30, just in time for the Oct. 1 BC highway tire restrictions - but don’t wait until the last minute!

Thank you to everyone who came out to the workbee on April 26th!
It was a beautiful sunny day and we got a lot accomplished. Rental skis were brushed and stored with wax, the woodshed now has a new front and is being restacked, wood was split, the timing hut was painted, and the small timing hut was relocated. Of course, hot dogs were enjoyed and equipment was put away to wrap up the day.
Huge thanks to Georgina, Glen, Dave, Bev, and Kristi, along with all the helpers — great job, everyone! 👏☀️
