WLBA Families this is worth checking out today!

The Williams Lake Indoor Multisport Turf Facility Working Group is hosting a Community Open House today from 10:00 AM–7:00 PM in the Gibraltar Room.

Access to quality, year-round recreation space is a huge issue for youth sports in Williams Lake. An indoor multisport facility could create more opportunities for kids, athletes, teams, and community groups throughout the Cariboo.

We encourage our WLBA players, parents, coaches, and supporters to stop by today, learn more about the project, ask questions, and show that our community supports continued investment in spaces for youth and sport.

Even if you can only drop in for a few minutes, having youth-sport families show up and be part of the conversation matters.

Saturday, October 3 | 10 AM–7 PM | Gibraltar Room

Let’s keep pushing for more opportunities for kids in Williams Lake! 🏀

WLBA IS LOOKING FOR COACHES!

As our programs continue to grow, so does our need for great people who want to help create opportunities for kids in our community.

From House League and development programs to competitive travel teams, camps, clinics and more, there are lots of ways to get involved. Whether you’re an experienced coach, former player, parent, or someone interested in learning, we’d love to hear from you.

We can also help connect coaches with NCCP training, resources and mentorship along the way.

Create opportunities. Build good people. Grow the game.

A great opportunity for basketball in Williams Lake!

A huge thank you to the Vancouver Bandits, Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council (I·SPARC), and FortisBC for bringing a free basketball camp to Williams Lake this week!

Having organizations like these invest their time and resources into our community and give local youth another opportunity to get in the gym, learn, compete, and have fun is something we really appreciate.

We also want to give a special shout-out to Marcus Loewen and SD27 for helping find gym space on short notice and making sure this opportunity could happen.

These opportunities don’t happen without the support of our community and the people willing to work together behind the scenes. Access to facilities is a huge part of creating opportunities for kids, and we’re incredibly thankful to everyone who helped open the doors and get our athletes on the court.

Bringing Bandits basketball to Williams Lake. 🤝 🏀

We teamed up with the Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council to host a free youth basketball camp at Lake City Secondary this week, supported by FortisBC!

Led by Bandits Team President Dylan Kular and Community Manager Pavan Kalair, local campers sharpened their skills and had a blast on the court.

Our free-of-charge camp was part of the Indigenous Basketball Collective, representing the ongoing collaboration between I∙SPARC, the Bandits Community Foundation and the Vancouver Bandits.

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting TRU WolfPack coaches as they ran a Camp in Williams Lake!

A huge thank you to the TRU WolfPack team for making the trip to Williams Lake and spending four great days in the gym with our athletes.

A special thank you to Coach Toni and Coach Fran for the energy, knowledge and enthusiasm they brought every day. It was great watching our athletes learn, compete, have some fun and get four days of instruction from the WolfPack.

We really appreciate TRU continuing to make Williams Lake a stop each summer. Having opportunities like this available right here at home means a lot to our basketball community.

Thanks as well to all the athletes and families who supported the camp and helped make another year possible.

We’re already looking forward to having the WolfPack back again next summer! 🐺🏀

🏀 WLBA 3 vs 3 – Playoff Wrap Up!

That’s a wrap on another summer of WLBA 3 vs 3!

Congratulations to our 2026 playoff champions:

🏆 Junior Champions – Bulldogs
🏆 Senior Champions – Bulls

The Junior final was a true team win for the Bulldogs. All five players hit the scoresheet within the first few minutes, and that pretty much set the tone. Great ball movement, unselfish basketball and contributions from everyone made the difference. Co-Playoff MVPs Caleb G. and Keerat K. led a really balanced Bulldogs attack on their way to the championship.

The Senior final was a back-and-forth battle between the Bulls and Warriors. The Bulls moved the ball well, got everyone involved early and eventually found a way to pull it out. Playoff MVP Sam S. did all the little things that make basketball easier for everyone around him — hustling on both ends, finding advantages, creating opportunities and getting on the glass.

A great way to finish the summer.

Thanks to all of our players and families who came out week after week. Lots of basketball, lots of improvement and most importantly, lots of fun.

Congrats Bulldogs & Bulls! 🏆
