A great trip to BC Provincials over the Easter weekend with our competitive team. We are truly grateful for BC Archery welcoming us at their event, in a guest category. We have been participating in this event since 2018 and it is usually the first 'big' event our athletes compete at. This year 9 archers made the trip and each earned medals in the guest category. It is notable to mention that a few had personal bests and a few would have medaled if they were included within the BC category. Well done archers! Next big competition will be Outdoor Nationals and we will start to train for that once the snow disappears at our outdoor range.

A special thank you to everyone involved in making the Arctic Winter Games such a positive and well-run event for the archers. HUGE THANKS to Alan Hansen, the Sport Chair, whose planning and attention to all the little details helped the full week run efficiently. Alan, we appreciate the many, many, many hours you dedicated to the planning process. Many hands went into making archery at AWG a success - volunteers included the venue team, the results team, volunteers at the door assisting spectators, our announcer, team mission staff, YASC - Sport Governing Body. Thank you also to the volunteer officials, who travelled near and far. Without you, we can't shoot! The archers appreciated each of you for your calm and supportive approach to your role as officials. This culture of support ran true throughout the event with archers and coaches across contingents encouraging one another. Coaches and archers agreed it was an excellently run event that was nothing less than professional. We also need to thank the archers, parents and caregivers who helped do the final clean-up of the facility before the games event started - so many thanks!

Congratulations to all the Yukon Archers that took place in the Canadian Indoor Regional Championships on March 7. Everyone shot well. The results are finalized across Canada and we have 4 medals coming to the Yukon.

GOLD & CANADIAN RECORD for Mya Wilson - U18 Female Barebow
SILVER for Avery Meger - U15 Female Compound
BRONZE for Josephine Copple - U15 Female Barebow

Mya Wilson sets a new Canadian Championship record at the regional Indoors Championship. The Canadian Championship record can only be achieved once a year at the Indoor championship event.

Yukon archers are done for AWG 2026. Overall Yukon took home 5 individual medals and 3 team medals.

First day of competition done, mix teams. Yukon brings home a Gold and Silver in mixed team barebow, and a bronze in mixed team compound. Congratulations Avery and Kael on the compound bronze, Mikayla and Draden on the barebow silver and Mya and Dawson on the barebow gold.
Next two days are qualifying then the individual matches all day Friday. Come out and watch.
