Endurance North Run Club Philosophy

We believe that people have been gifted with an incredible amount of potential, and that the realization of this potential is a valuable pursuit.

Endurance North Run Club is a performance-oriented, all-abilities distance running club in Whitehorse, Yukon, who are dedicated to supporting each other and building community as we train and compete together. Mission

To create an open space for people of all abilities and stages of life who are interested in training, competing, and improving together through expert guidance and mutual support.

Goals:
- Have a positive space for runners to train and compete to the best of their abilities.
- Foster personal development through teamwork and mutual support.
- Achieve personal best outcomes through ambitious goal setting, consistent practice, and dedicated effort.
- Build community through participation in both running and non-running related activities together. It is valuable intrinsically as a worthwhile endeavor, but also extrinsically as a metaphor for everyday life. It should therefore be something that is vigorously strived for, with dedication, courage, and enthusiasm. A team supports the individual in their success and challenges, and the individuals build the team through collective goal sharing and support.

Interesting development! This is a relative common practice. What a lot of people might not know is in addition to the pain-relieving effects, NSAIDs (ibuprofen, aleve, motrin, etc) cause a slight reduction in body temperature which also has a performance enhancing benefit.

Athletes are no longer allowed to use NSAIDs, including ibuprofen, before or during any UTMB races
