VOLUNTEERS - Our Club is very fortunate to have so many wonderful volunteers who put many hours in every season. At the 75th Anniversary Celebration in November 2025, awards and recognition were given to our long term volunteers for all their hardwork over the years, dedication, great friends and hosts, curling participants and Club organization expertise- A very special thank you to you all!

We have our Board Executive consisting of our President - Jim Harris (2000 to present), Vice President - Al Munday (over 10 years), Treasurer - Sandra Harris (2000 to present), Secretary - Elaine Gunderson (2015 to present), Directors - Don Kallis (1990 to present), Ken Astill (2010 to present), Darnell Jendrick (2023 to present), Shanley Bowersock (2024 to present), Brad Beck (2024 to present) and Cindy Brooks (2024 to present).

Thank you to all of the volunteers who help run the leagues, bonspiels and other events. In addition, we often need a hand with ice making operations ( making and taking it out) and facility repairs. Thank you to those that help out. Your time and efforts are appreciated.

We are wanting to thank two other important people to our club: "Kristy our Club Bartender" ---As you maybe aware, each season as a member of our club, the teams are asked to volunteer in the bar 2 times per year to help cut down on our costs. Kristy, is our back up plan for bartending during league play. If someone cannot make the shift they signed up for or there is no one signed up, Kristy is more than willing to help out for those emergency times. In addition, Kristy is our bartender who works our bonspiels and other events when our upstairs facility is rented out for an evening. She has also become our cleaning lady upstairs and we appreciate the work she does to keep things neat and tidy. Thank you.

"Dan Fraser, Volunteer Extraodinaire"-- Dan has been helping out Benny ice cleaning and operations for a number of years and is also the guy that will show up when someone needs a hand to get in the building, assist contractors, develop bonspiel draws or other work that is happening. Thank you Dan for all the extras you do.

Rule change effective the 2026-27 season đŸ¥Œ

Under the ‘Rules of Curling’ Section 4 there is an addendum:

4.1.f. Teams may now sweep opponent stones anywhere past the hogline, not just behind the tee-line.

Every season we have so many people, businesses and community to thank. Without the support of sponsorships and donations, our Club would and could not function. We are especially thankful for the sponsors of our facility - Carbonex Contractors Ltd. We also must say thank you to our Club sponsors -their names are displayed on billboards in our rink. Thank you Thank you to our community businesses!

Great work on the Junior program coaches! From dryland training to working on the delivery, sweeping, shot making and then to games. Everyone learnt something every session.

Amazingly, we had a Junior team join the Mixed Bonspiel in March - way to go kids! We have also had some of our more experienced juniors get involved in our leagues and that is wonderful to see. You can see the growth every time they come out and are able to build on their skills.

Next season, there are some big plans for the program, be sure to inquire in October about more information and joining. We will be looking for coaches and hoping to be able to certify/update certification for coaches.

Here is a look at some strengthening, practises and games. It was a great season. We are looking forward to seeing the youth back in the fall.
