I believe that fitness is a major component of being able to actively participate in life. Having worked as an Occupational Therapist for over 10 years, I have seen a number of negative lifestyle and emotional patterns that are often precursors to disability and chronic disease. With STOCK Fitness for Function, I want to help others to gain and maintain fitness in order to be able to actively part
icipate in the daily tasks that are important and meaningful. As a Personal Trainer, I value a healthy lifestyle that is inclusive of exercise and nutrition. Having a young family, for a number of years I focused mainly on the needs and wants of others. Consequently, I neglected some of my own needs, including my own personal fitness. I found myself feeling fatigued, lethargic, unhappy and generally unhealthy. I realized something had to change. It was then that I re-discovered exercise, resumed healthy eating habits and began to participate in regular fitness. I have since lost 30 pounds and over 12% body fat. But, most importantly, I feel great and I am now an NASM Certified Personal Trainer! I believe that my personal fitness endeavours, my experience working as an Occupational Therapist, as well as my skills as a Personal Trainer, have positioned me to educate and motivate others to achieve their own fitness, functional and lifestyle goals.
