ANOTHER SUCCESFUL SHIPMENT OF DONATED SPORTING GOODS SENT OUT BY A FIJIAN IN SURREY.
A 50 year old prominent surrey businessman Mr Al Kamal, formerly of Samabula Fiji, is very passionate about collecting used and new sporting goods locally and shipping it out to the third world countries where there's a need for these items amongst the underprivilege youngsters who are stepping into the world of sports.
His Non-Profit organization promotes a slogan which reads;
"Football for Fiji 🇫🇯 Islands helps provide underprivileged children access sport opportunities and experiences in both team and individual sports “So All Kids Can Play.”
With several shipments of sporting goods out of his Surrey home to other parts of the world including Mexico, Fiji and West Africa
His latest shipment of a full 40 foot container has reached Ghana in West Africa. And another half shipment in May was sent out to Gospel High School in Samabula, Fiji. Previously, he has also shipped out to other parts of Fiji, likes of Labasa, Suva, Ba and Nadi.
Kamal initially start collecting and storing these items at his Surrey home garage several years ago. And once he would get enough sporting gears like Soccer cleats, Jerseys and Balls, he would arrange a shipment out with the Viti Freights Ltd at a discounted rate offered by its owner then, late Kamlesh Charan.
Kamal was intrigued and motivated to help underprevelledged children during his family vacation in Mexico, where he witnessed a group of local children playing Soccer on the street without proper gears. Mr Kamal who himself plays a Masters league for Lautoka with Fijian Soccer league , made him wonder how fortunate children are in developed Countries like Canada to have all the luxuries of sporting gears.
Kamal has been doing this good samaritan work for the past seven years and intending to continue in the future with the help from community.
