Sleepy Hollow Country Club A private golf club, featuring a beautiful parkland golf course, only 5mins from Stouffville. Two fellows stood at the back of what is our 9th. fairway.

green on a summer's day in 1958 overlooking the meadow which we now know as the 18th. One turned to the other and commented” that is a nice sleepy little hollow.” Their golf club had a name. Those two gentlemen, James Johnstone Sr. and Bert Turcotte were already in the midst of distinguished careers in golf. Ultimately sharing in honors with induction to either the Ontario Golf Hall of Fame,winning Canadian Professional Golf Championships or successful developers of other golf courses in this part of the world. From those days, the club has continued to prosper and evolve into a respected private golf club catering to the needs of a diverse and active membership, while providing space for community and private events. Today the course still rests peacefully in a park like setting, mature trees, rolling fairways and small undulating greens. Seven holes remain virtually untouched from the original design. The others lengthened and improved with an eye to protecting the beauty and original character.

"After our group ripped off back-to-back GIRs—which is an accomplishment on its own—we stepped up to the 15th tee feeling pretty good. To top it off, Peighton had just grabbed us a round of drinks, so the vibes were already high. Hole 15. 118 yards. Everyone on the green yet again, I grab my pitching wedge, pick my line, and send one straight at the flag. It lands a yard short, takes one perfect hop... and disappears.
At first, I figured it had bounced over the back of the green. No one could quite tell where it went. As we walked up, we started looking behind the green... then I checked the cup. Sure enough, there it was—sitting at the bottom of the hole.

Hole in one.

Pandemonium. High fives. Shouting. Disbelief. The kind of moment I've ever only dreamed about. Oh boy!"

"Distance was 145 yard, hit nice high cut 9 Iron on the left side of the green and watch the ball come down and disappear. I thought it had gone into a hollow or just roll off to the rough went looking for it with a wedge and putter only to find it in the bottom of the cup woohoo! First one in 22 years of playing, been very close before but this time it finally happened."
