After 20+ years of working hands-on with individuals, I’ve had the opportunity to see what works, what doesn’t, what people struggle to connect to — and what can completely change the way someone understands and uses their body.

The True Corset Workshop was built from those 20+ years of experience.

Not from a trend. Not from a single method or cue. But from decades of teaching, observing, modifying and finding different ways to help different bodies understand the same fundamental concepts.

This is not a workout.

It’s three hours to slow things down, ask questions, feel the difference in your own body and better understand the why behind what we teach every day at Pure Pilates.

✨My Stance on Certification

My philosophy on Pilates education has always been rooted in quality, integrity, mentorship, and lifelong learning.

Pilates is unique because there is no single governing body or universally recognized certification. Every education provider has its own philosophy, standards, and approach, which is why I believe the focus should always be on the quality of education, the integrity of the teacher, and the commitment to continued growth.

At this point, I don’t see myself creating a comprehensive certification. I believe instructors become stronger by learning from different educators, experiences, and perspectives rather than relying on one person or one system. Every program has something valuable to offer.

My own journey reflects this belief. I have had the privilege of learning through multiple educational pathways, including certifications with Stott Pilates®, Body Harmonics®, Balanced Body®, and Durham College, while also receiving the mentorship, education, and guidance from Danielle at Second Wind® secondwindpilates that has been instrumental in shaping who I am as an instructor, educator, and mentor. Her knowledge, philosophy, and experience have become a foundation that continues to influence how I teach and develop instructors today.

This is why Pure Pilates will continue to offer the Second Wind® Pilates Plus® teaching certification system. It represents the education, mentorship, and teaching excellence that have shaped my own path while providing instructors with a strong foundation and the understanding that growth continues far beyond certification.

A certification alone does not create an exceptional teacher. Great instructors are built through applying knowledge, continued learning, experience with different bodies, critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to adapt.

My passion is mentorship—helping instructors bridge the gap between completing their education and becoming confident, skilled teachers.

My mission is not simply to create more certifications, but to develop better teachers through meaningful education, mentorship, experience, and a commitment to always keep learning.

💫Please join us in celebrating Monique Bynoe Pilates in Motion on successfully completing both her practical exams and all required course hours for the Second Wind® Pilates Plus® Mat and Integrated Movement Therapies (IMT)® certifications.

Over the past year, Monique has approached her training with dedication, perseverance, and a genuine passion for learning. One of the greatest advantages of completing her training through Pure Pilates was having every required course hour, mentorship session, and practical exam completed right here in the studio—allowing for ongoing support, personalized feedback, and valuable hands-on experience throughout her journey.
