Posted • Su***de is the 10th biggest cause of death worldwide. We lose over 800,000 people to su***de per year.
September is National Su***de Prevention Awareness Month and today is International Su***de Prevention Day - a time to share resources and stories in an effort to shed light on this highly stigmatized topic. Su***de can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background
Let’s look after each other by letting our loved ones know that their feelings are valid. That we see them. That we hear them. Let’s raise children who can express themselves and seek the help they need. Let’s keep talking openly and fighting to decrease the stigma that prevents so many from asking for help. Let’s check in on each other and remember to also turn our attention inwards and treat ourselves with the care that we extend to others.
If you or someone you know is in an emergency, call 911 immediately. If you are in crisis or are experiencing difficult or suicidal thoughts, call the Canada Su***de Prevention Service at 833-456-4566. You matter! ***depreventionday ***deprevention
