Vancouver BC - Unkle Events is psyched to announce the 2016 Whistler Longboard Festival, on Holiday Weekend July 1-3. Just 2 hours north of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Whistler is a spectacular mountain resort town and downhill mecca. Now in it’s 6th year the Festival is held at a 2010 Olympic facility and attracts the top downhill skateboarders from around the globe. This years Festival
will kick off with a 3 Day Mill Street Brewery Beer Garden and a Fun Canada Day Freeride presented by Landyachtz Longboards(leathers and IDF membership optional)). 1-day freeride entries and volunteer sign-up will be available on www.longboardfestival.com, Don't forget to ride the Brand NEW SKATEPARK for a shred before hitting the village to get loose during the BAR HOP Whistler or Garfinkel's Whistler Friday rager! There will be free outdoor shows by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra on Friday night and Saturday afternoon at the Whistler Olympic Plaza
Following the 1-day Freeride is our main event; the 2-Day IDF - IDF - International Downhill Federation World Cup Downhill Qualifications and Race. On Sunday our main day, Racers from 20 countries will compete in Junior, Master35, Luge, Women and Open categories will compete for a Cash Podium.
